All students are required to take the Clemson Math Placement Test (CMPT) prior to registering for math courses. See advisor
for information on course selection. Possible math sequences include: MTHSC 101-203, 101-102, 101-106, 102-207, 106-108,
106-207, 106-301, 106-309, 207-301 or 207-309. EX ST 301 may be paired with MTHSC 101, 102, 106, or 207.

2
Students possessing advanced knowledge and skills with the Internet, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint should consider the
test-out option through examination for CPSC 120. Details about this option are located on the Advising Center’s FAQs page
(http://business.clemson.edu/advising/webpage/home.htm).

3
Biology 110/111 (5 credit hrs each) may be substituted. In this case, the extra two credit hours will be counted toward the final,
non-sequence science requirement.

4
See Psychology Department approved course list (in Handbook or on departmental web page). Courses used to fulfill the
Humanities Requirement (E.1 & E.2)), Social Science Requirement (F), or Major Area cannot be used to meet this requirement.
However, minor courses may be used to fulfill the Cultural Awareness requirement.

5
See General Education Humanities/Literature (E.1) Requirements.

6
Three additional science courses are required beyond the core biology sequence. Six of the nine hours must come from a two-
semester sequence of a science other than biology (see General Education Requirements area D). Extra credit hours resulting
from labs for either science sequence may be counted toward fulfilling the final, non-sequence science requirement.

7
See General Education Social Science (F) Requirements. Course must be a social science other than psychology.

8
See General Education Mathematical Science (C) Requirement.
