Click Here to Discover The Secret To Quitting For Good Introduction Laser treatment to quit smoking is one of the many different methods that people try when they want to quit smoking. Let’s answer some of your questions about it and see if it really works. How does it work? The quit smoking laser works by shining a low level laser light on the body. When this happens, it is supposed to generate “endorphins” which are said to be the body’s “pleasure chemicals”. The idea behind the laser is that these endorphins make you feel more calm, less stressed and they also kill the cravings. After your treatment is completed, you are supposed to be able to quit smoking more easily. The theory behind it is very similar to Eastern philosophies of acupressure and acupuncture. In the West, consumers have typically steered clear of acupuncture because of fears of pain – the laser doesn’t hurt and has allayed those fears for people wanting to try this method of quitting smoking. Where is the laser light put? The laser light is directed onto various parts of the body including the ears, hands, wrists, knees, arms and the nose. Compare this with acupuncture which usually only involves the ears for smoking cessation treatment. How long does a session take? A typical sessions takes around 20-30 minutes although most places will block out an hour of time because a consultation is also included. It is said that you will feel the relaxing effects immediately and many people reportedly even fall asleep during the process! How many sessions do people need? Most clinics say that you will only need one session. A few clinics insist on two or three – perhaps you might want to ask them why they are in the minority? Nearly all clinics will recommend a “booster” session around 3 to 6 months after the first session. Page 3 Visit www.QuitSmokingAdvisory.com for quitting tips and advice

Is the treatment performed by a doctor? No. You should remember that this is not a medical procedure. If you ask a clinic who will be performing the treatment, they will say “a laser technician”. This person does not need any medical certifications but a good clinic will make sure that a person has adequate practice of the procedure before letting them loose on the public. Remember too that most of these clinics will correct you if you say “stop smoking laser” – instead they will refer to it as “laser therapy”. Be wary whenever you see the word “therapy” in any walk of life – quite often it means that there is no medical science involved whatsoever. Another example of this is the term, “hypnotherapy”, which many people believe is a medical science. Is the stop smoking laser safe? The laser is considered to be safe and does not carry the risks of invasive surgery, for instance. The intensity of the laser is said to be no more powerful than a light bulb. To put this into context, the FDA consider such low level lasers to be “non-significant risk devices”. To give you some idea of that this means, other items that share this classification are contact lenses, menstrual pads and most wound dressings. That being said, most practitioners will not use laser therapy on women who are pregnant – probably for fear of litigation more than any realistic risk. Also, they will routinely refuse to use the laser on people who suffer from seizures because the laser light could trigger them. If you are unsure, clear it with your doctor first. How much does it cost? This varies depending on where you get it done but expect to pay between $250 and $350 for a course of treatment. Booster treatments are usually offered at a discount. Will my insurance cover it? Very rarely will a clinic accept insurance as payment but most are happy to provide letters and receipts and anything else that your insurance company might need. Some insurance companies will cover Page 4 Visit www.QuitSmokingAdvisory.com for quitting tips and advice
Click Here to Discover The Secret To Quitting For Good the cost and some won’t. It’s best to check with them first and make a case that, if successful, you’ll be costing them less in the long run. What is the success rate? Most clinics will claim a 90% success rate. This rate is only for people immediately completing the treatment and is not a 6-month follow up rate.
Does The Stop Smoking Laser Work?
I’ll get straight to the point. The laser doesn’t work. Let me quote from a few studies for you: “Acupuncture and related interventions for smoking cessation.” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16437420 There is no consistent evidence that acupuncture, acupressure, laser therapy or electrostimulation are effective for smoking cessation “Laser acupuncture for adolescent smokers--a randomized doubleblind controlled trial.” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11154059 A double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of laser acupuncture treatment in adolescent smokers… At three months posttreatment, the rates for complete cessation were 24.8% and 26.2%, respectively. Thus, there was no significant difference in the rates of smoking cessation in the treatment and control groups.
Why Doesn’t The Laser Work?
The laser doesn’t work for many reasons:

Click Here to Discover The Secret To Quitting For Good • There is no sound medical explanation for the laser to work. Talk of endorphins helping to quit smoking is a kind of “pseudoscience”. Even if endorphins really are released, the effect is only temporary. Remember, there is no doctor involved in the procedure whatsoever and the word therapy does not mean that medical science is involved. You could set up in your own back yard as a “laser therapist” if you wanted to. Society has grown used to seeing the laser as a “cure-all”. It’s been used for surgery and commonly to correct eyesight. Marketing the laser as a cure for smoking has been very profitable for many people. The 90%+ success rates claimed are obviously false. The study above showed about a 25% success rate after 3 months whether using the laser of using sham or fake treatments that the people in the trial believed would help them be cured of smoking. If people believe that something will work, then it will for a short while – this is known as “the placebo effect”. Even if there really is a true physical effect of the laser that helps to cut cravings, you’ll see in the next point that this is only temporary. The fact that most clinics offer a “booster” treatment is a marketing effort, an attempt to make you think of vaccines which cure a person of a disease. Lasers do not work like vaccines, your body does not produce antibodies and develop natural immunity. All that happens is that you believe that the laser works. Over time, this temporary effect weakens and the desire for cigarettes comes back. This is why clinics recommend a booster treatment.

The laser is no better or worse than most of the other smoking cessation treatments out there. Patches, hypnosis and laser therapy – these all work (whether by legitimate means or not) only to reduce the cravings from cigarettes. But the effect from them all is only temporary. It may make it easier to quit initially and the first few days after, but what is the point if you just become a smoker again after 6 months or a year? The long term success rate from willpower alone or any of the above treatments is around 7% when you follow up many years later. It’s incredibly low and most health professionals won’t tell you this because they don’t want you to get depressed about it. There is a way out though… Page 6 Visit www.QuitSmokingAdvisory.com for quitting tips and advice

The Only Way To Quit Smoking For Good
The problem with all of the above is that they only combat the symptoms of addiction, the cravings, and temporarily at that. None of them go to the root cause, the addiction itself. None of them actually seek to understand how addiction works in putting it’s grip on people, their minds and bodies. Even medical science cannot explain how addictions really work - it can only explain the symptoms of it and make a lot of money out of it. I personally tried all the cures when I was a smoker and they didn’t work. But then I stumbled across the only way to quit smoking, a method that allowed me to truly understand my addiction. It has now been 8 years since and I have not smoked any cigarettes. And, what’s more, I quit without willpower and without cravings. That is what happens when you truly understand your addiction. If you want to know more about how I did it, then please click the link below and check out methods 1 and 2. These two methods (not the third) are methods of quitting just like I used, where you truly understand your addiction, do not need willpower to quit, and you do not get any cravings. http://www.quitsmokingadvisory.com/recommends Thank you for reading this report and please feel free to pass it on to others you think may benefit from it.
