If you wanted to spend a day in my school you should know that first class starts at 7.30. Classes long for
40 minutes and it is different from most of the other schools because there are two different schools
studying in one building. First two breaks long for 10 minutes, third one is 20 minutes and others long for
10 minutes as well. Some teachers don't like other people in their classes but don't worry there would be
no problems. When classes start and teacher come in the room all the students should stand up and greet
him or her. You should know that some teachers don't like students turning round and speaking as well.
There are no uniforms for students but you should not be naked. These are the most important things you
should know.

es blanda. Puedes comprarte caramelos, galletas, bebidas .
                                        En la cantina tienes que enseñar tu tarjeta, puedes
escoger entre varios platos, escuchar música.
                                        En clase tienes que levantar la mano para hablar. No
tienes que charlar con los compañeros. Tienes que tratar de usted al profesor.No puedes comer,
ni siquiera chicle.
                                        Puedes llevar pantalones vaqueros, como toda la
gente.No tienes que llevar un uniforme pero tienes que vestir correctamente.

 The name of my school is “Vasil Antevski- Dren. It is a Secondary School of Law and
Economics. If you wanted to spend a day in my school you should know some things about it.
When you first look at it from the outside- it seems smaller, but in fact it is huge inside. There is
a beautifully arranged yard with fur trees, grass, flowers and benches .If you want to enter; you

need to have ID card. Proving and showing your identity, but since you will be my guest of
honor, you will not need it.
The first thing you will see inside will be the big hall and the stairs going from one level to
another .The school has 3 floors and about 40 classrooms.
At the same time you’ll notice that the students are not wearing any school uniforms, because it
is not obligatory. Usually we have 6 lessons a day...
The teachers are very nice; they are fair enough when it comes to grades. There is an interactive
way of teaching, and we do special projects in different subjects.
It is impossible one to know all the teenagers in my school.-there are so many students . . .
almost 2 thousand.

A1 HUNGARY

Hi!
I don’t know how it goes in your school but in our school the first lesson starts at 8 o’clock so if
you don’t want to be late it’d be better to come school at 7: 45. Each lesson takes 45 minutes and
after one we have a break which takes 10-15 minutes and they have a definite order. In an
average day we have 6 or 7 lessons and we can go home at 13: 30-14: 30. We haven’t got a long
lunch break so if somebody eats in the canteen he/she can eat after his/her lessons buti n our
school you don’t have to eat int he canteen just if you want. In this school there are 12 years and
each years there are 4 classes. We distinguish them with letters. (exp: 10.d, 10.e ) There are
different school types in this school: primary school (1-4), secondary school (5-8), high school
(9-12), and the little high school(5-12 we are in this) and now we have a new type these are the
bilingual classes. Near the school there is a nursery school which has the same name as our
school.

What do you need to know if you want to spend a day in my school?

Our school, The Commercial College of Iceland prepares students for higher
education e.g. university education. The students in the school are 15-19 years old.
In our school there are different streams which each student chooses between. The
stream which we have chosen is the International Stream. We study/have ten
subjects. They are English, French or German, Icelandic, cultural studies,
international business behaviour, history, international economics, biology, law and
then we have one extra subject which we choose individually, a socalled choise
subject.

School usually starts at 8.10 in the morning and often finishes at three to four
o’clock in the afternoon. We usually have around 7 lessons a day, each lesson
lasting 40 minutes. We have lunch break at around 12 o´clock and as our school
have a students´canteen and a convenience shop we can buy our lunch at school or
we can bring our lunch from home.
There are 1111 students, both boys and girls, in our school, but in our class there
are 24 students. Each class has its home-class room where it has most of its
lessons.

In our school we have a fully equiped gym, three conferance rooms, a cafeteria, a
large parking lot (as many of the students have their own cars), seven computer-
rooms and a big newly renovated library.
Our school is well known for its extra curricular activities. E.g. we regularly arrange
dances over the school year. We put up a musical, a play, a song contest and we
compete in many different sports within the school. We also compete with other
schools in debate contests and a famous Icelandic TV-show where different high
schools compete against each other by answering difficult, intellectual questions.

What would you need to know if you wanted to spend a day in my school?

Hello! My name is Grigoreva Rita. I am 14. You can see me on the picture. I am the
second from the left. I study at the linguistic lyceum number 1555. I study English
and French. But I had never studied French before I came to the lyceum. I chose
this language because I think it is very beautiful. And I have studied English for
about five years. Also I play the piano. I went to the music school for eight years,
but I had already graduated it. I want to tell you about my school.
The lyceum is rather different from ordinary schools. The differences are not only in
matters, but and in customs of the lyceum.
If you want to come into my school, you must have a uniform and a school diary
with your own photo. Fortunately, you can wear everything you want, but also you
must wear a special waistcoat with the lyceum’s logo.
Luckily there are only from eighth – to eleventh grade students in the lyceum. It is
good, because at a break it is not so noisy. Every year at the end of May about one
hundred seventh grade students pass two exams. They are Russian and the foreign
language which a pupil has learnt before. After that some students enter the
lyceum. There are about twenty-eight pupils in every class, which is divided into
three groups.
There are lots of different languages, studied in my school, for example, French,
German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and others. So, every student studies two
languages: the language he has chosen and English.

Matters are like in ordinary schools, but the programme is more difficult and also
you have two lessons of foreign languages every day. Usually we have from five to
seven lessons for fourty five minutes every day and also after every lesson we have
a break for ten or twenty minutes. In the difference from most schools we have to
go to the lyceum also on Saturday, as other pupils study only five days a week. I
think it is not fair.
As an every school our lyceum has his own customs. For example, at the holidays
every class must make some interesting performance for teachers and students.
You can play some scene, sing or even dance. Than there is usually a disco for all
students.
I like the lyceum, and I think if you spent a day in my school, you would like it too.

A la primaire, les enfants sont à l’école de 8 heures à 1530. Au lycée, les lycéens finissent
leurs cours entre 1240 et 1615. Entre les cours, il y a des récréations.

Schule.
Ich heiße Dascha und bin 14 Jahre alt, ich wohne in Moskau und lerne im Moskauer
Linquistischen Lyzeum 1555. Wenn du in meine Schule gehen willst, musst du über
unsere Regeln wissen. Alle Schüler denken, dass diese Regeln sehr streng und
unbequem sind. Einerseits ist das richtig, andererseits ist das unser Prestige
Schulkleidung zu tragen! Wir haben eine Schuluniform, das ist nur ein Qberteil, eine
Strickweste mit einem Aufnaeher, wo steht «Linguisticum Lyzeum». Bei uns ist
auch gestatten eine weisse Bluse oder einen weissen Pulover zu tragen.Unsere
Schule ist sehr alt, sie war vor dem zweiten Weltkrieg gebaut. Das Gebaeude hat
vier Stockwerke und ist aus rottem Ziegel.
Und jetzt ueber unseren Tagesplan. Unsere Stunden beginnen um 8.30. Wenn du in
die Schule kommst,musst du ein Schuelernotenbuch vorweisen und Schuluniform
anhaben, die Schuhe weckseln,das ist obligatorisch. Aber das ist nicht alles,du
darfst zum Unterricht nicht zu spaet kommen, sonnst bekommst du die Eintragung.
Wir lernen drei Fremdsprachen .Das sind Deutsch, fuenf Stunden pro Woche,
Englisch auch genausoviel und Latein nur einmal in der Woche.Aber in aelteren
Klassen werden wir diese Sprache drei mal pro Woche lernen. Die Stunde dauert 45
Minuten. Zwischen den Stunden gibt es Pausen, zwei zwanzigminutige Pausen und
andere kuerzere. In der Pause kann man verschiedene Szenen beobachten. Einige
plaudern, andere machen Quatsch, einige sitzen einfach und paucken. Du kannst in
den Speiseraum gehen und etwas Leckeres kaufen. Wir duerfen jetzt auf den Hof in
der Pause nicht gehen. Frueher spielten wir dort Volleyball, und jetzt nur nach dem
Unterricht. Die Schule endet um 15 Uhr.
Wie jede Schule hat unser Lyzeum seine Traditionen, z.B die Disco zum Neujahr,
Lyzeistenweihe fuer die Achtklaessler. Wir feiern auch deutsche Weinachten,
machen Picknicks, wo wir Geburtstage, die in Sommer waren, feiern.Ab und zu gibt
es in unserer Klasse verschiedene Klassenfahrten.
Es gibt keine Grundschule im Lyzeum,nur die Klassen von 8 bis 11.Und nicht alle
Kinder koennen im Lyzeum lernen. Alle muessen die Aufnahmepruefungen ablegen.
Und das ist nicht sehr leicht, die Schueler regen sich sehr darueber auf und ihre
Eltern auch. Die Atmosphaere ist trotzdem sehr angenehm.
Die Ferien dauern 2 Monate,im Juni legen alle die Prüfungen ab,und danach
machen wir Praktikum in der Schule etwa 1,5 Wochen.Nach den Sommerferien
gehen alle am ersten September in die Schule. Das Schuljahr beginnt immer an
diesem Tag.
