Science Laboratory Task 1: A MILK CARTON BIRD-FEEDER 1. Wash and dry a small milk carton. 2. Cut a small section from the top of the milk carton. 3. Staple the top opening closed. 4. Paint the container in camouflage colours. Use streaks of tan, gray and brown to resemble tree bark. Then, on the bottom, paint on dark and light green leaves. 5. Let it dry. 6. Punch a hole in the middle of the top of the carton. 7. Thread a one metre piece of cord through the hole to use as a hanger. 8. Put your name on the cord, using a tiny piece of white paper and glue. 9. Put a little birdseed in the milk carton. 10. Hang up your feeder. Task 2: DINNER FOR THE BIRDS 1. Choose a pine cone. 2. Attach a one metre piece of cord to the end of the cone. 3. Put your name on the cord, using a tiny piece of white paper and glue. 4. Cover the pine cone with lard, using a knife. 5. Place a little birdseed on a plate. 6. Roll the pine cone in the birdseed on the plate. 7. Hang up your dinner for the birds. What kind of birds will you attract?
