We are searching for an:

INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE COORDINATOR

Our Labrador Operations is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Coordinator to lead the development and
implementation of Industrial Hygiene programs and ensure departmental compliance and best practices. The
incumbent will develop and communicate IH information within the operations, as well as to the Joint
Occupational Health and Safety Committee and regulatory agencies as required. They will also lead the
response to and resolve Industrial Hygiene issues throughout the operations and recommend suitable actions.

This position is based at the Voisey's Bay mine site in Labrador, a fly-in/fly-out operation, with a 2 week on, 2
week off rotation.

Accountabilities:
    Maintain knowledge and expertise on relevant provincial and federal legislation pertaining to Industrial
      Hygiene programs and WHMIS
    Maintain existing industrial hygiene programs and associated training and documentation
    Develop annual schedule for IH programs/sampling
    Conduct sampling as indicated in the sampling schedule and coordinate required analysis (internal or
      external laboratories)
    Maintain IH sampling equipment to applicable standards (certifications/calibrations)
    Receive OEMP analysis data and conduct technical evaluation and interpretation
    Prepare monthly reports for operations Departments, Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee,
      and regulatory agencies as required
    Communicate results to participating employees and their supervisors
    Prepare annual reviews of IH programs
    Lead the development of supporting IH training programs and conduct reviews of existing programs
    Respond to IH related concerns as required
    Provide general educational awareness of IH related topics to support employee wellness programs
    Maintain the WHMIS program – electronic database, approval of new controlled products
    Act as a resource person to peers

Education:
The ideal candidate will possess:
    Post-secondary degree/diploma in Safety or a related field
    CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation
       (completed or in progress) will be considered an asset

Experience:
    5 years in a similar position, within an Industrial setting
    Mining industry experience is an asset
    Previous experience in a fly in/fly out environment is an asset

Knowledge and Skills:
    Extensive knowledge of IH programs, sampling techniques and data analysis
    Monitoring for workplace contaminants
    Strong communication skills
    Report writing skills
    Self motivated
