     CARE: What Does that
Many times you hear the phrase,
     “Complete cancer care,” and you
ask yourself, what does that mean?
With the fast pace of technology,
     working in conjunction with
     different forms of treatment,
     diagnosis, and patient monitoring,
cancer care has become more and
     more advanced. With the new
wave of technology, the ability to
     monitor how effective your
     chemotherapy or your radiation is,
is right at your finger tips, with an
array of options. With the newest
     technologies like CTC (Circulating
     Tumor Cell Assay), just approved
by the FDA, which counts the
     exact number of circulating tumor
cells in the body and PET/CT
     (Positron Emission Tomography),
     patients can monitor the progress
of their treatment at any time.
Physicians are now able to use this
     technology to determine if the
treatment is not effective, if the
treatment needs to be changed, or
even if the treatment options were
     successful. Also with the newest
     genetic testing options, patients
have access to care even before
     being diagnosed with cancer. At
     the Gettysburg Cancer Center you
     have the availability of
     chemotherapy and radiation, the
     newest technologies including
     CTC, PET/CT, genetic testing,
and much more all under one roof,
any day of the week. The
     Gettysburg Cancer Center has
been located in Adams County for
over 20 years with the main goal
of moving rapidly with all new
     advancements in Cancer
     Treatment. If you have questions
     about your care, what different
     options you have, call the
