Why Declutter?
As a professional declutterer and organiser, I enjoy the privilege of working with a
myriad of clients, in their homes and offices, who have become desperate to finally
rid themselves of the needless clutter. They have usually arrived at a state of
complete overwhelm where they have no idea where to even begin the daunting
task of disposing of belongings.
A common cry is: “I’ve got no storage!” I haven’t yet worked in a home or office
where I couldn’t find storage solutions.
And then there are the baby boomers among us who have learnt from our parents,
who lived in much harder times, that you hold onto everything ‘just in case’ you
might need it in the future. Today this mentality can turn us into hoarders. This
may be a gentle form of hoarding as in a passion for a ‘collection’, or conversely can
become much more serious as it completely overtakes the person, and their home.
