Introduction to HT Series Profiles
80/20®'s HT Series framing line is a natural extension of "The Industrial Erector Set ". The HT Series product is an easy-to-assemble, cost-effective modular aluminum framing system, perfect for designing carts, gravity feed racks or integrating with 80/20®'s existing T-slotted aluminum lumber. HT Series Section 1, profiles, contains information about 80/20®’s structural HT Series components. These extruded shapes, when combined with connector inserts found in Section 2, form the basic building blocks of the HT Series. Technical details, material strength, and weights for each of the extruded shapes can be found with each of the extrusion profiles found on pages 824-828.
®
1
Extruded HT Series profiles are structured around 1.50” square tubes and feature 1.50” flanges in various configurations. Each of the profiles is available with centered, pre-drilled holes at 1.50” intervals, with notches in the flanges for adjustability, with both holes and notches, or without any machining at all. See Section 7 for available machining services.

HT Series Profiles - With Holes
The pre-drilled holes make building with this framing system EASY - without additional machining!
HT Series Profiles - Without Holes
Profiles without holes provide your application with a neat, clean, and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
1
Ordering HT Series Profiles without holes:
• Choose from the HT Series profiles on pages 820-824 that do not have pre-drilled hole patterns • Have your profile cut to the desired length and specify the appropriate clearance drill service and style from pages 885-886
HT Series Profiles - With Flanges
Profiles with flanges make your application adjustable. Flanges can be used in many different ways; the application below demonstrates the use of flanged profiles to create an adjustable rack for material handling uses.

HT Series
HT Series Dimensional Detail
The standards detailed here for hole sizes and centerlines apply to ALL pre-drilled HT Series extruded profiles. This machining detail also shows a typical flange notch detail that applies to ALL pre-fabricated flanges.
HT Sereis Profiles
The design ingenuity of the HT Series offers many benefits, including:
• Compatibility with many existing 15 Series components • Construct framework without requiring machining services • Simplify modification of existing frames
1
Part No. 9708 P-Tube Left Hand shown for clarification of pre-fabricated machining. See page 821 for more information on 9708 extrusion.
15 Series Bolt Pattern Dimensions
Many, but not all, compatible 15 Series components have been included in the HT Series sections of this catalog. The standards used for hole sizes and centerlines of 15 Series joining plates and inside corner brackets match the premanufactured specifications for HT Series machining exactly. This makes almost any 15 Series component a valuable addition to any HT Series frame.

HT Series Extended Tube Insert Connection
The 4605 extended tube insert, two flanged bolts and one nut are all you need for fastening all HT profiles together that are NOT cut at the standard 3/4" end cut. This simple fastening method is required for applications where profile lengths are not equally divisible by 1.50”.

The illustration at right demonstrates the use of an extended tube insert (see page 830) in an HT Series profile end with irregular hole spacing. This extended insert is located at the second premanufactured hole instead of the first and will also require the use of a 3.5" connector bolt (see page 833) for fastening the two HT Series profiles together.

Introduction to HT Series Fasteners
One of the most important aspects of working with the HT Series product line is the fastening method you choose. In this section you'll find everything you'll need to create secure connections that won't loosen, even in situations when application vibration is at its highest.

HT Series Tips:
• The Fractional Section (pages 101-103) of the 80/20 Big Book shows additional 5/16-18 fasteners that can be used in conjunction with the HT Series product line. • An arbor press makes assembling roll pins and standard inserts a simple process. A roll pin punch, shown on page 828 can also be used. • Remember that many of the 15 Series parts and accessories have ø.328 mounting holes on 1.50" centerlines. Sometimes the part you are looking for is in another section of this catalog.
HT Series Fastener Tip:
Use button head socket cap screws (BHSCS) and washers with inside corner brackets.

Acrylic panels are a cost-effective alternative to polycarbonate. While less impact-resistant, acrylic is available in more colors, and lighter in weight. Acrylic is great in applications where optical clarity and resistance to the elements are a must. Only half as heavy as glass and only 40% as heavy as aluminum, acrylic is also easy to cut, drill, rout, and paint. Applications such as displays, signs, furniture, low-impact guarding and partitions are where acrylic makes its mark.

Polycarbonate is a high performance industrial application panel. Easily machined with standard hand tools, the high impact resistance offered by polycarbonate prevents cracking, chipping, or breaking when cutting or drilling panels. Polycarbonate is best used in applications where high impact resistance is needed while offering a clear view of the enclosed device. Polycarbonate excels in industrial and manufacturing applications such as machine guards, equipment enclosures and workstations.

Gravity Roller Assembly - Steps 1-4
1
• Make sure you have all the components needed. • Lay the parts out as shown; this will help in assembling your application. • Don't forget tools! See Section 2.
2
• Start assembling the guide rails and conveyor tube inserts. • Follow the diagram steps for ease of assembly. • Always remember to tighten the fasteners with 80/20® tools!
5
3
• Once the guide rails are in place, connect the P-tube stopper "P" to the end of your application. • Insert the flanged hex bolt through the P-tube stopper and into the conveyor tube inserts. • Tighten bolts.
4
• The guide rails and the P-tube stopper are assembled and ready for the framing support. • Place the connector rod between the guide rails. Remember, there is no designated hole, just preference. • Once in place, tighten the flanged hex bolt for a sturdy framing application!

Gravity Roller Assembly - Steps 5-8
• Once the right end assembly is finished, complete the opposite end. • Again, using conveyor tube inserts, complete the left end of the guide rails. • Thread the flanged hex head bolt through the guide rail and insert to create a mounting point. • Fix in place with the flanged hex nut. • Your conveyor is almost finished! • Push the ends of your rollers "G" and snap into the desired holes, one end at a time. • Decide where you want to place the rollers, then insert one at a time.

5
6
• With the roller assembly completed, build the frame assembly. • Remember to check all bolts to make sure they are tightened and in place.
7
5
• Once the conveyor and frame are assembled, select the support "S" components. • Insert a flanged hex bolt into both ends of the support. Remember to allow room on both ends for inserting into the notches. • Once complete, decide on how high or low you need the conveyor to be. Then place the assembled support into the desired notches.

Introduction to HT Series Machining Services
As a one-stop shop, we strive to meet all your framing needs. That’s why we offer machining services to assist you in professionally completing your project. In this section you’ll find those machining services specific to the HT Series product group. Typically, when using HT Series profiles with premanufactured mounting holes, only cut-to-length services will be required. However, when choosing HT Series profiles without premanufactured mounting holes, you will also want to specify drilled access holes to connect profiles together. In addition, this section includes everything you’ll need to know for sizing and making any specialized cuts required when using panel or wire mesh options.
HT Series Advantages
• By using 80/20®'s machining services department, your order will arrive on time and ready to assemble... every time! • Let us do the cutting and drilling for you...we're the experts! • If you want to do it yourself, we'll provide you everything you need to know to do it right! • Panels cut sized to your exact specifications. No one does it better than 80/20®.
