Oman is a beautiful country, and we find ourselves at home here. This is probably because of the long lasting relationship between Egypt and Oman. Of course, we don’t have any language barrier here, as it is important that we communicate in Arabic with the locals here. Eighty percent of any successful treatment is usually if the patient understands exactly what is being done to them. So in this case, being Arabic speakers is a big help for the patients in Oman. We found that there are a lot of thermalogical diseases here, especially ones that are hereditary, so there was a need to start a centre in Muscat. Many Omanis would go to Iran or India to get their eyes treated, and that is hard because surgeries need a follow up. Some of the diseases need a follow up for a long period of time, and that is why we are here to do the treatment instead. Today, with all the eye laser services available in Oman, even through other eye centres, there is no need to travel abroad for eye treatment. There is no doubt that the doctors abroad are excellent, but following up is important. What kind of patients do you encounter mostly? There are two factors that we can emphasise on: first are the hereditary diseases that we frequently encounter Dar El Oyoun is planning to expand, but like any good brand they and secondly there are many problems due to the want to keep excellent services.
