To Our Valued Retailers:

In order to standardize processes across all product lines and to provide internal efficiencies, Unified
Grocers will begin to include Saturday and Sunday as invoice dates effective Friday, March 14, 2008 for
invoices dated Saturday March 15, 2008. Currently, stores that are receiving shipments or deliveries on
weekends reflect Monday as their invoice date. Under the new invoice policy, these will be dated Saturday
or Sunday, depending on when the loads were processed through the warehouse. If an order is processed
on Friday, the invoice date will be Saturday. If the order is processed on Saturday, it will have the invoice
date of Sunday. This change will cover all orders and invoices in all regions for Grocery, Frozen, Deli, GM,
HBC, Seasonal, Specialty (Market Centre), Ice Cream, Dairy, and Bakery.

Order/Invoice changes include the following:
   • Processed orders will have invoice dates for the following day.
   • The date of the invoice will be the day of delivery/will–call.

Promotions/Deal changes include the following:
   • The new practice will be to start deals on Saturday and have them end on Friday.
   • The first notification for new deal dates will appear on Cost & Change reports dated March 4, 2008.

The following processes remain the same:
    • Order processing and invoicing – no behavior changes needed at retail.
    • Billing statements – no changes to billing statements or timing.
    • Retail price changes – no change to the process of submitting retail price changes.
