ALOKASI WAKTU                 : 14 JP (7 kali tatap muka)


1. TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN
        Membiasakan siswa menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan dasar pada saat bertemu dan
         berpisah.
        Siswa mahir memperkenalkan diri sendiri, berkenalan dengan orang lain atau
         memperkenalkan orang lain.
        Siswa diharapkan dapat menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan berterimakasih dan
         meminta maaf dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
        Siswa mahir membuat kalimat-kalimat sederhana berdasarkan kaidah-kaidah tata
         bahasa yang benar namun tidak terlepas dari konteks situasi.

2. MATERI PEMBELAJARAN
     Greetings and leave taking expressions: Good morning; How are you?; I‟m fine, thanks.;
      See you later.
     Introduction: May I introduce myself? I am Budi.; Ani, this is Risa.; Nice to meet you.
     Congratulatory expressions;
     Thanking expressions and its responses: Thank you very much. You are welcome.
     Apologizing expressions and its responses: I am sorry for….; Please forgive me….;
     Grammar Review: Personal Pronoun (Subject & Possessive); Simple Present Tense (Be
      and Verb 1)

4. LANGKAH-LANGKAH KEGIATAN PEMBELAJARAN

    PERTEMUAN KE: 1 GREETINGS EXPRESSIONS AND LEAVE TAKINGS

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
           Checking class preparation and students‟ presences
           Exposing various expressions both formal and informal used in greetings and leave
            takings.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)
        Students practice to greet others and asking or answering questions about them by
        doing mingle activity:
           Ask several students to come in front of the class (about five or six).
           Teacher blows whistle twice to start the game.
           Students start to make introduction with their partner.
           Teacher blows whistle once to tell the students that they have to change partner
            and start the conversation again (do this two or three times).
           After they all have made the introduction, teacher blows whistle three times to
            stop the activity.
    c. Kegiatan Akhir (15 menit)
        Teacher Makes conclusions and gives some notes on the activity.


    PERTEMUAN KE: 2  INTRODUCING ONESELF

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
           Checking class preparation and students‟ presences
           Teacher introduces the activity for the lesson.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)
        Introducing one self by doing a game called “Tell a lie”:
        1. Teacher gives the students a photo of an Englishman or an American completed
           with their identity, such as name, date of birth, etc.
        2. Students pick up a photo from the piles and start to build sentences to introduce
           the man/woman who is in the photo (remember that students have to consider
           that the one in the photo are themselves).
    c. Kegiatan Akhir (15 menit)
        Teacher introduces the topic for the next meeting


    PERTEMUAN KE: 3  INTRODUCING OTHERS

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
           Checking class preparation and students‟ presences
           Teacher gives some examples on how to introduce someone to others in various
            ways.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)

           Students construct a brief dialogue in pair based on the given situation, including
            the expressions of greeting, introduction and leave takings.

    PERTEMUAN KE: 4  CONGRATULATORY EXPRESSIONS

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
           Teacher prepares the class for the discussion.
           Teacher gives some examples on how to congratulate someone related to certain
            events.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)
        1. Teacher gives detail information about how to congratulate someone.
        2. Students practice to say some expressions on congratulating others.
        3. Teacher gives some case of events that related to congratulation. Students need
           to give proper response to it.
        4. Students act it out with a partner in front of the class.
    c. Kegiatan Akhir (15 menit)
        Teacher concludes the lesson and give some exercises to do at home.


    PERTEMUAN KE: 5  THANKING EXPRESSIONS

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
           Checking class preparation and students‟ presences
           Students listen to a dialogue from a cassette related to „thanking‟ expressions.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)
        1. Students complete a dialog
        2. Students act it out in front of the class
    c. Kegiatan Akhir (15 menit)
           Giving pronunciation practice
           Concluding the lesson and giving homework


    PERTEMUAN KE: 6  APOLOGIZING

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
        Teacher introduces a new topic about „apologizing‟.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)
           Teacher hands on copies of a sample dialog related to apologizing.

         1. Teacher writes a simple statement on the white board.
         2. Teacher asks students to identify the subject and possessive pronoun of the
            sentence.

    PERTEMUAN KE: 1  COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUN

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
           Teachers checks for class preparation and students‟ presences.
           Teacher asks students about things around them; nominate them to mention any
            objects they can find in the classroom.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)
        1. Teacher explains about countable and uncountable noun.
        2. Teacher asks students to sort the things they have identified in advance, which of
           them categorized as countable and which are uncountable.
        3. Teacher nominates certain students to report their work to whole class and
           teacher leads a discussion about it.
    c. Kegiatan Akhir (15 menit)
           Teacher asks students to pronounce numbers well.
           Teacher assigns students to find more countable and uncountable by observing
            through their homes and neighborhood.

        1. Teacher explains about cardinal and ordinal numbers.
        2. Teacher models the use of cardinal and ordinal numbers for certain purposes, for
           example to say about quantity, date, time, and grades.

         1. Teacher talks about wider ranges of jobs the students can be in the near future.
         2. Teacher gives students reading text describing professions people do. It includes
            information about the duties as well as the salary.
         3. Teacher asks the students to decide what kinds of job they will do in the future
            and what reasons they do for it.

    PERTEMUAN KE: 1  SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

    a. Kegiatan Awal (15 menit)
        Teacher writes a sentence on the board and asks the students to identify the
        structures of the sentence, particularly ask them finding its subject and verb.
    b. Kegiatan Inti (60 menit)
        1. Teacher explains about subject pronoun and proper noun used as subjects.
        2. Students have to practice match up between the subject and verb so that they
           agreed to each other.
    c. Kegiatan Akhir (15 menit)
        Students work out with some sentences to make the subject and verb agreed to
        each other.

    PERTEMUAN KE: 2  THE USE OF SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE TO DESCRIBE FUNCTION OF
