This estates falls within the Rothley & Thurcaston Ward and the Ward Councillors for this
area are Cllr. Peter Osborne (Conservative) and Cllr. Diane Wise (Conservative).
The village of Rothley is on the edge of the Charnwood forest and lies approximately
seven miles from Leicester and approximately six miles from Loughborough. There is a
regular bus service through the village to Leicester and Loughborough.
The village has a number of shops which includes a newsagents, grocery store and post
office. It also has a local library with free internet access to library members.

Narrative about property mix:
The bungalows within the village are mainly situated near the village green and in close
proximity to the local amenities.
The majority of flats and bedsits are situated within Babington Court; however there are a
number of duplex flats in the village. Some of these are situated across the road from
the sheltered scheme, however the majority are mixed within mainly owner occupied
sections of the village.
The houses are also mixed in with predominantly owner occupied properties within the
Babington Court, Rothley – 28 Units

The bungalows have parking available on the road and have shared access to the rear of
the properties; however they do have their own front and rear gardens.
