Information Systems Manager, Infinity Technology, LLC, McLean, VA                                                   2009 – 2011

Manage IT services for a growing technology company with three locations. Actively designed, evaluated, recommended,
purchased, installed, and controlled information system technologies throughout the organization using SDLC methodologies.
First recipient of the company’s I-Team Award; “Given for outstanding accomplishments with efforts going above and beyond
performance expectations.”
  Recruited by CEO to support and administer the U.S. Air Force’s acquisition application and systems (SPS/PD2), only
     later to be promoted to Information Systems Manager to oversee all IT related functions and strategic planning.
  Championed implementation of corporation’s first network infrastructure to include Windows Server 2008, Exchange
     Server 2010, Window 7 Pro desktops and laptops, Microsoft Office 2010, Apple Macintosh systems, Virtual Private
     Networks (VPN), and Cisco firewall / switching systems.
  Designed systems for optimum reliability (state of the art equipment), availability (redundancy), and performance (high
     speed systems and load balancing).
  Delivered significant enhancements to the corporate infrastructure to increase reliability, security, user productivity, and

     website design, database design, and managed external email systems.

Infrastructure Manager, Remke Markets, Erlanger, KY                                                                 2005 – 2008

Managed IT infrastructure for a large grocery store chain located in two states including a corporate office, warehouse, and 18
store locations with over 800 employees.
  Recommended and implemented redesigns of network infrastructure to replace aging equipment, add redundancy using
     Windows Server technologies, improve security and increase system performance. As a result system uptime remained at
     100%, credit card transactions never failed, and customer satisfaction levels improved.
  Developed matrices to measure reliability, availability, and performance using agreed upon SLAs designed what to
     measure, how to measure, and target and success rates.
  Led PCI Security Compliance testing to insure customer data was secure and prevent any financial liabilities of the
     organization due to credit card numbers being compromised or other security breeches.

Director of Information Systems, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Washington, D.C.                              1989 – 2004

Full responsibility over information technology, telecommunications, and operations, with overall decision-making authority.
Direct management of 13 employees and managers of the information systems department while reporting directly to the CEO.
Rapidly promoted due to hard work, dedication, and knowledge. Led the transformation of a non-networked organization to
one that included networked solutions for every facet of the organization; editorial, accounting, advertising, marketing, and
production. Responsibilities included overseeing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support
of data center systems; including networks, servers, operating systems, associated hardware, and all necessary resources to
accomplish the mission and goals of the organization and information systems department. Responsible for implementing
vendor solutions, contract negotiation, service level agreements (SLAs), and project management. Led the system solutions
steering committee whose members included executives, mid- and upper-level management, key users, and vendors.
  Modernized a company with only 10 stand-a-lone computers to a network of high reliability systems that included over 55
     file servers and other networking components; this included incorporating our New York office as well as a Disaster
     Recovery location using the Internet and VPN technology
  Developed SLAs and matrices to measure reliability, availability, and performance.
  Replaced existing aging mainframe/dumb terminal technology with client/server technologies comprising of Microsoft,
     Apple, and IBM solutions. Integrated systems that included Unix, Apple Macintosh, Windows 9x and XP, Windows NT,
     Windows 2000, and Windows 2003, CISCO routers, CISCO firewalls, CISCO switches, and wireless networks. Final
     system configuration included 55 files servers; approximately 40 were Windows 2003 Server.

     networks, servers, operating systems, and associated hardware
