A calendar application that syncs with your PC and Mac and a 2 megapixel camera with photo management applications and syncing capabilities with your PC or Mac is also included. When not making calls or checking your voicemail you can enjoy the widescreen iPod capabilities it encompasses. With its 3.5 inch screen, all you have to do is touch the screen to access your downloaded music, audio books, audio podcasts, video podcasts, music videos, television shows and movies. Whether scrolling through music or playing and pausing a movie, use your finger and the job is done. An added feature exclusive to the iPhone is the new Cover Flow application. With it you can browse your music library by album cover artwork when your device is in the landscape position. For all those email and internet junkies on the go, the iPhone has a HTML email client that fetches your email from most POP3 or IMAP mail services as well as displays photos and graphics right along with the text. As an added bonus, Yahoo will be providing free “push” IMAP email service to all iPhone users that automatically push new email to a user’s iPhone. So just by entering your Yahoo! name and password, your mail will be automatically fetched. The award-winning Safari(TM) web browser has also been added to the phone’s massive repertoire so you can now see any web page in it actual format with the option to zoom in and expand on any section of the page by tapping on the screen. With the Wi-Fi or EDGE features no matter where you are the internet will be available to you. For your added convenience, the Safari web browser also comes with built-in Google Search and Yahoo! Search. Wondering how this little device can do so much and still last the whole day with out running out of juice? Well with the advanced built in sensors you won’t have to worry about your phone dying on you in the middle of a song or a phone conversation. The accelerometer detects when you have rotated the device from portrait to landscape making some applications easier to use while the built-in proximity sensor detects when you lift the iPhone to your ear and it immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches until iPhone is moved away. The built-in ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the display’s brightness to the appropriate level for the current ambient light ultimately saving power giving it a battery life of up to 5 hours for talking, video and internet browsing and up to 16 hours for listening to music. With all the capabilities this phone delivers to you in the palm of your hand its no wonder it has a hefty price tag of $499 for the 4GB model and $599 for the 8GB model, but not to worry as you have plenty of time to save for it as Apple has slated its release in June of this year.
