• Prosperous: successful; doing well
• More production of new inventions such as washing
  machines, vacuum cleaners, cars, radios, movies, and
  more
• Credit – Americans could buy things using credit cards
  and pay later
• Loans made to other countries who needed to borrow
  after the Great War
• Consumerism: buying lots of stuff/ “American
  consumers bought more washing machines in the
  1920s.”
• Materialism: Wanting lots of consumer goods/ “My
  sister always wants new clothes. She is so
  materialistic.”
