                          TO AIR FIRST ON HISTORY™

The Kennedys, a four part movie event,
                      premieres on HISTORY™, 7th April 2011
HISTORY™ channel in the UK is to air the highly-anticipated drama series The Kennedys. The UK
premiere of the four part (x2 hours) movie event will transmit on 7th April 2011.

The series, filmed in Toronto and produced by Canadian independent studio Muse Entertainment
Enterprises, boasts an all star line-up led by Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy (JFK), Barry Pepper as
Robert F. Kennedy (RFK), Katie Holmes as Jacqueline Kennedy and Tom Wilkinson OBE as Joseph
Kennedy Sr.

Oscar-nominated for As Good as it Gets, and starring roles in You’ve Got Mail and Little Miss
Sunshine among his many credits, Kinnear‘s performance is a compelling portrait of America’s most
famous and iconic president. Pepper is known for his compelling roles in Saving Private Ryan and
The Green Mile. He steps into the shoes of the President’s younger brother, his campaign advisor,
policy advisor and Attorney General. Katie Holmes inhabits the part of the beautiful, tragic first lady.
Holmes was propelled into the spotlight in hit teen series, Dawson’s Creek, rising to superstardom in
Hollywood movies, including a starring role in blockbuster movie Batman Begins.
British actor and star of the Full Monty and Shakespeare in Love, Wilkinson plays the Kennedy patriarch
whose driving ambition and wealth propelled his sons into the highest offices in the land. British actor
Diana Hardcastle (and Wilkinson’s wife) plays Rose Kennedy, the family’s matriarch. Broadway and US TV
star Chris Diamantopoulos plays the legendary Frank Sinatra.

The series starts on Election Day 1960, with charismatic Senator John F Kennedy pitted against Vice
President Richard Nixon in the televised debates that would prove so crucial in winning the race to the
White House. Through flashbacks to the 1930s and 1940s we see Joe Senior’s desire to be President, his
thwarted ambition and his resolve to make sure eldest son Joe Jr realises his father’s dream of power.

The drama relives the public and private joys and tragedies of the most influential family in the world
including the fraternal rivalries, the mob associations, the drugs and the women. It recreates the political
crisis that Kennedy dealt with in the early days of his presidency including the disastrous Bay of Pigs
invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis that brought the world to the brink of nuclear war, and the Civil Rights
Movement. Viewers will see every twist and turn of this clan’s extraordinary story up to and including the
assassinations of JFK and RFK.

AETN UK Managing Director, Tom Davidson, said: “Securing the UK premiere of The Kennedys is a
major coup for the HISTORY channel. Bringing to life the story of America’s most iconic family, the
drama is a bold and epic account of the Kennedy dynasty and we are delighted that viewers in the
UK will get to see it on HISTORY first.”

Michael Prupas, President and CEO of Muse Entertainment, said: “The production of The Kennedys
has been a labour of love and commitment for the many people involved in its realization. Anyone
who watches the show will agree that the Kennedy Family emerges from our treatment as a great
American Family, who made a great contribution to the world and to their country, but were beset
by epic tragedies.”

The Kennedys, already licensed to 30 territories worldwide, is a Muse Entertainment Enterprises
production, in association with Asylum Entertainment. From the Emmy-Award winning team behind
the groundbreaking series 24, the creators are Stephen Kronish and Joel Surnow. The series is
directed by John Cassar and the executive producers are Joel Surnow, Michael Prupas, Jonathan
Koch, Steve Michaels, Jon Cassar and Jamie Paul Rock.
