The technological infrastructure is being provided by Rightsrouter. Technology Partner: Rightsrouter was spun out of the UK's Association of Independent Music (AIM) in 2003. It is an advanced contracts management system, and digital asset management tool. The Rightsrouter team has been actively involved in on-line and mobile data and asset management for over eight years and they have developed standards for metadata that have been adopted by many digital music services. Management: Pete Dodge, acting General Manager, has over 15 years working within the independent sector. Pete’s label and distribution experience was gained through product and label management at Rough trade Distribution, and as a director of RTM Sales and Marketing. Moving into a direct artist and label role, he helped establish and manage the PIAS Recordings Record label in the UK for 5 years. Pete’s most recent role has been running his own consultancy helping Labels establish their European sales and distribution, and providing label management services. Darren Mothersele, Chief Technical Officer, has been New Media Manager at Cooking Vinyl for the past year. He is also a member of the New Media Committee at AIM (Association of Independent Music). Before joining Cooking Vinyl, Darren was a Research Scientist in the University of Sheffield’s Computer Science department. Over the past 5 years Darren has DJ-ed at various clubs across Europe, and produced remixes that have featured on XFM, QTV and Liquid London. Stuart Middleton, Chief Finance Officer, was part of the management team which founded V2 Music Group in 1996 and was its Group Finance Director for over 5 years. Prior to that Stuart held several positions at Sony Music, latterly with the company's LRD division which was established to create partnerships with independent record labels and which entered into deals with many labels including Creation and Nude. Investment Team includes: Martin Goldschmidt is Managing Director of Cooking Vinyl Ltd, one of Europe’s oldest Independent Record Companies. Current roster includes, Richard Thompson, Billy Bragg, Frank Black, Echo and the Bunnymen, Hayseed Dixie and Hanson (www.cookingvinyl.com). Cooking Vinyl has always been a digital pioneer, being the first UK record label to get content into eMusic. Mike Chadwick is former Managing Director of Vital Distribution Ltd, the second largest Independent Distributor in the UK with an average turnover in excess of £40,000,000. He began his career working in a record shop in Bristol in 1975. By 1983 he owned Revolver Distribution which went on to handle artists as diverse as Nirvana and Cowboy Junkies. Following a merge with Play It Again Sam owned APT, Vital Distribution was started in 1993. Vital had great success with many artists of the Brit Pop era including Oasis and currently distribute White Stripes, Depeche Mode, and Moby amongst others. Following Vital Chadwick set up a UK publishing company for PIAS and has been involved with the DVD Audio format. Recently he set up Essential Music & Marketing, with Martin Goldschmidt.
