Line Item Instruction

Use this workbook for your CSCP certification maintenance. There is a separate Excel workbook for the CPIM/CFPIM certification. Points earned
for the CSCP certification may also be applied to the CPIM/CFPIM certification provided they meet the requirements stated in the CPIM/CFPIM
     1
Certification Maintenance Bulletin. You should print this worksheet by clicking the print button on the Excel tool bar. You must complete instructions #2
and #3 for this workbook to operate properly.
This workbook uses a worksheet function that Excel does not normally install automatically. You will know if it is not installed if you get "#NAME?" in fields
where you are expecting the certification due dates on the "Name & Dates" worksheet after you type in your information. If you need to install this function,
     2
click "Tools - Add-Ins" on the Excel menu. Then check the box "Analysis TookPak" and click "OK." You may be asked for your original Excel installation
CD. Then close Excel and re-open it. Then re-open this workbook.
This workbook contains one simple macro on the "Point Summary" worksheet that must be used to trigger an update of the table on that worksheet.
Therefore, you must enable macros in your Excel security settings to make it work. To change your macro security settings type "macro security" into Excel
     3
Help and follow the instructions. Since macros could be written to contain viruses and other malicious software, you should always protect yourself by using
           the most current anti-virus software.
The yellow tabs on the sheets of this workbook indicate user input is required on that sheet. Go to the "Name & Dates" worksheet and input the data into
     4
the yellow shaded fields. Once completed, you will only need to update the "Name & Dates" worksheet each time you maintain your certification.
Go to the "Journal" worksheet and input the data in the yellow shaded fields. You must input data into the "Year", Specific Activity", and "Points
     5
Claimed" columns for the "Point Summary" worksheet to calculate properly.
You may sort your entries on the "Journal" worksheet but the automatic sort buttons on the Excel tool bar won't work because the worksheet is protected
with a password. To sort your data on the "Journal" worksheet, click on cell A8 and drag your mouse to cell D8. Continue dragging downward until you
     6
reach the end of your data. Release the mouse button and select "Data - Sort" from the Excel menu. Then click the "No header row" radio button and select
your sort options before clicking "OK".
To print the "Journal" worksheet you will have to adjust the print range to include all of your data. Place your cursor on cell A8 and drag to cell D8. Continue
7 dragging downward to include all of your data and then release your mouse button. Then click "File - Print Area - Set Print Area" from the Excel menu. Then
click then print button in the Excel tool bar. The print headers and footers are already setup for you.
Each time you enter data on the "Journal" worksheet, it will be out of sync with the "Point Summary" worksheet because the update must be triggered
manually. You will see a prominent error message at the top of "Point Summary" worksheet whenever the point totals from these two worksheets are out of
sync. You must click the "Click to Update Totals from Journal worksheet" macro button anytime you change the data on the "Journal" worksheet in order for
     8
them to be in sync. This error message only works on point totals, so if you change a Year or Specific Activity, the error message will not be triggered.
Clicking the macro button needs to be done after any update. As noted in Line Item 5 above, if you have not entered data into all three columns, the table
on the "Point Summary" worksheet will not be what you expect.
The best way to use this log is to record each individual activity and a detailed remark soon after you complete a certification maintenance activity. This is
because these things are easy to forget. For example, if you go to 6 PDM's during a year, you should have 6 entries. The detailed remark could include the
     9
date, name of the speaker, and the title of the presentation or program. As a minimum, you should update this workbook every three months to insure you
don't forget to capture all of your points.

If you have any questions regarding what you can claim as points, please refer to the latest revision of the Certification Maintenance Bulletin and the APICS
    10
website at http://www.apics.org. For questions in this area, please contact APICS at 800-444-2742 or certmain@apicshq.org or service@apicshq.org.

11 A printout of the "Point Summary" and "Journal" worksheets can be attached to your Certification Maintenance Application.

Once you have turned in your points for maintenance, save the file with a different file name to retain your history. Start a new file for the new certification
    12
           maintenance period.

Certification maintenance points may change over time and this workbook may not be up to date. The most current Certification Maintenance Bulletin
    13
(CMB) is the definitive source for determining points. The user is responsible to make sure this workbook accurately represents the most current CMB.

14 This workbook is up-to-date to the CSCP Certification Maintenance Bulletin (CMB) version 8/09, which can be found on the back page of the CMB.

Although great care has been taken to accurately calculate and categorized your points according to the CMB, errors are always a possibility. The creator
15 of this workbook assumes no responsibility for errors of any kind. The user assumes all risk. It is the users responsibility to make sure the points on the
"Point Summary" worksheet accurately reflect the points on the "Journal" worksheet and that it accurately reflects the current CMB.

It is highly recommended that you check the revision date of this workbook to the file you are using. You may download the latest version from
    16
http://www.opsmath.com. The latest revision date of this workbook is indicated in line item 18 below.

If a newer version of this workbook is available and you want to use it (highly recommended) simply copy/paste your detailed data from your old workbook
17 to the new one. However, to take advantage of any new formatting done on the new version, you should use the "paste-special" option and activate the
"Values" radio button and then click "OK." This copies only the values to the new workbook and not the formatting.
18 The revision date of this workbook is December 28, 2009.
