Joint Collective Protection Equipment (JCPE) Program
Purpose: The JCPE program consolidates improvements to postMilestone III/C collective protection programs into one cost-effective product improvement program for currently fielded fixed, mobile, shipboard, and transportable collective protection systems. Mission and Major Components: Provide proven solutions to deficiencies, needed improvements, and cost saving standardization using the latest technologies in filtration, shelter materials, and environmental controls to provide affordable, lightweight, and easy to operate and maintain equipment. Inserting improved technology into currently fielded systems will result in better performance with reduced operating costs. Standardization of individual system components across Joint Service mission areas reduce logistics burden while maintaining the industrial base. User: U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Marine Corps Capabilities: ♦ Provides a means for users to address deficiencies found in the field and quickly correct them. ♦ Improvements over Traditional Acquisition Programs: ♦ System improvements, after successful prototyping and testing (1-2 years), are delivered via a performance specification that can then be implemented by respective Services through an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.
