M98 GAS-PARTICUATE FILTER SET (GPFS)
The M98 filter set, which is packaged and changed out
as a unit, consist of a high efficiency particulate
arresting (HEPA) filter nested inside a gas adsorber.
The HEPA filter is a pleated media filter for removing
solid and aerosol CBR contaminants. The gas adsorber
contains activated charcoal for removing chemical
warfare gases. The two components together remove
any traditional chemical or biological agents from the air
stream passing through the filter before going to users.
M98s are installed in a wide variety of shelters used by
the Army, and are also used aboard Navy ships and at Air Force field hospitals. A Hermetically
Sealed Filter Canister (HSFC) version is also manufactured for use with the M20A1/28 motor
To provide 200 CFM of air protected from all traditional chemical and biological agents.
U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy
♦ Removes chemical and biological agents from up to 200 CFM of air flowing through.
♦ Uses ASZM-TEDA carbon which can be disposed of as non-hazardous waste, reduces
potential health hazards to the user if the filter is ruptured and carbon is released.
