Just wanted you all to know that this weekend Jade (Mount
Sinai's Bela Jade) achieved her first agility title, running Level 3
(one level below Champions) by achieving two qualifying runs and
taking second place both runs! She just missed earning a second
title this weekend as well, but, she jumped off the A frame causing
us her only point deduction, however it was enough to cost us a
qualifying run- then again, there's always next trial! I don't know
how many Bordeaux have earned agility titles out there, but she can
add this to her CGC certification and AKC CD title! Here's to spread-
ing the word of our good news! Hello to all and thanks again to
Mount Sinai Kennels for all of the support. - Jenn Doyle

Well we made it through the first year of the newly established Logo Committee. At the end of 2004 we had 12 members using the
DDBS Logo on their websites. Approval is very easy to do, just send me a request at REED60903@aol.com and the Logo Committee (which
now consists of Michelle Convis, Hilary Branscum, Joan Harris, Amy Norman, Vi Harrison, and myself) will review your site and get you
approved. It is that simple. To date no one has been denied the use of the logo. It usually takes only a few days to get the whole process
done. You are approved to use the logo for only one year and must request each year to continuing using the logo on your site. You are
allowed to update pictures on your website but if you make major changes your site will need to be reapproved. If you have any questions
or wish to use the logo on your site just send me an email. At this point no one has been rejected and no one is pending.
Members who have been approved to use the logo are listed above in the article “DDBS Protection of Logo”.

this particular project will further help with our expenses by allowing us to save money otherwise spent on our club newsletter in paper form.
The long term goal of the DDBS Club Officers is to eventually have the majority of our members on line and receiving the newsletter in this
format. Remember, those who opt to go with the electronic newsletter instead of getting a paper copy still get all of the things presently
offered in the paper newsletter but the electronic version is instead provided to our members at no cost to the club! Postage costs alone run
in the hundreds per year and continue to rise. Then if you consider the added delay that results from time spent printing, assembling,
labeling, mailing, and travel time it puts our newsletter behind schedule on occasion. PDF takes care of all of that while still providing us with
electronic and more permanent storage options, it also allows for the find feature, color photos and graphics and also in the future we may
discard our present set limits on the length of our issues (it adds to postage costs when they are larger). Having said all of this and after
reading the responses from our members I'm sure that you all realize that it's difficult to make significant gains within the club in programs
and services we offer when we lack the resources to develop them. In short, this is the easiest way to put your dues to work allowing them
to be reallocated for other things, like a health or pedigree database, research funding, guest speakers at our national shows, etc.

         Hi, Kristin,
I was going to send you a card, but didn’t have an address. Anyhow, I
want to thank you for having me on your panel. I had an absolutely marvelous
  time.
You guys did a splendid job. I’ve already written the Mastino folks about all
of the neat things you did. They do many of them, but your show was such a
delight I wanted to pass on what info I could to them. Do you know that you
had 90 plus ads in your catalog and that’s not counting the dog/kennel ads.
I’ve been to lots of nationals and don’t think I have ever seen so many ads.
I also was really impressed with the dogs and the people. Everybody was
most pleasant. The dogs were very nice examples of the breed; you’ve come
along way since the early rare breed days. They were also well behaved. Yea,

Veronica’s personal statement when asked to tell a bit about herself says it all: “I have supportive parents that trust my choices and I
agree with their parenting methods, and my Mom is my best friend.”
Mary Montgomery summed up her feelings about Veronica this way: “Veronica is an incredibly amazing young woman! She is so
mature beyond her years! To further describe this very impressive girl is the depth of trust that her parents have in her to be able to send her
clear across country with their 4 1/2 month old puppy all by herself. Eleanor and I were her guardians but still, not many parents would have
trusted their young teenager to have enough maturity to handle this type of trip and event alone. Another great quality about Veronica was
her very insightful and fun sense of humor. She is a great observer and a very quick study. Not one minute was Veronica anything else but
a PURE JOY to have shared our 2005 DDBS National show experience with the rest of the Powerhouse Gothic Guardien family members as
well as everyone else at the show!
All of us who know Veronica and had the pleasure of her company during Nationals are proud of her accomplishments in and out of the
ring. We know we will be hearing more from her as time goes on.

DDBS National Show Sponsors_____________
With the hard work of the new Ways N Means Committee, headed by Trish Brian, assisted by Dianne Morrison, Marilyn Homer, Mandie
Martine, Kris Munday, Joan Harris and Andrea Switzer, many sponsors were secured for the 2005 show. Almost $2000 was raised in the
rescue auction, the raffle was the largest ever, the Parade of Rescue had fantastic goodie bags, the exhibitor bags were filled to the rim, and
other companies even send specific awards for some events. (All those giant hamburger, hotdog and fries squeekies came from Vo-Toys!)
If you won anything in the raffle, the auction, or appreciated anything you received in your goody bag, as an award or as a sample,
please take the time to contact the sponsors to show your appreciation and let them know that their sponsorship in the upcoming years will
be greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all who helped make this show a success!

Each year at the DDBS National Show, a special aspect of our breed is highlighted, our rescue dogues. This event is for Dogues de
Bordeaux that have been rescued, either from the DDBS, another organization, or from shelters. This is an opportunity to bring awareness
to all about what is happening to our breed. Hopefully the Parade of Rescues makes everyone stop and think what they can do not only to
help those in rescue now, but how to prevent future dogues from being in rescue.
This year the Parade was MC’d by DDBS Rescue Volunteer, Mandie Martine of Texas. The three dogues present were awarded bags of
goodies donated by our sponsors and members, such as Spot My Dog, Haute Diggity Dog, VO Toys, Natura, Sue Pearson & Frank Napela,
Kris Munday, Andrea Switzer and many other “goodies”, as well as a medallion. Each rescue mom or dad was invited to share the story of
their rescue dog. Thank you to all who participated and donated!

Hi everybody. My name is Roxy and I am a dogue who was lucky enough to be saved by the
DDBS Rescue. My mom and dad, my brother Archie (who is also a rescue dog) and I went on a
family trip to the DDBS National Show in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We had such a fun time!
My foster mom and dad showed up – it was so good to see them again. I am so thankful for all
the help and TLC they gave me while I was recuperating from my traumatic life. They taught me that
people can be good and care for dogues, and that you don’t have to be afraid anymore.
The DDBS recognized me and two other dogues who were also rescues. We got to go in the ring – just like the show dogues and
people smiled and clapped for us. We felt very special. The three dads said a few words about how good we were and how happy they
were to have us as part of their families. It was an experience we will never forget.
We all got wonderful goody bags to take home with us. I loved everything in my bag – especially the giant squeaky hot dog that is
just my size! There were yummy cookie and treat samples and a few new bags of food to try out. I also found a couple of rawhide chips
in the bag and a couple of PIG EARS!! I am a pig ear junkie, you see. Boy was I happy! At the bottom of the bag I found a HUGE bone
 and a chewy stick.
Of course, I had to share my loot with Archie, but that was ok because I love him and he did help out with the Canine Good Citizen
 testing at the show.
The Holiday Inn was so nice to us. They had a place for us to walk, they don’t care if you sleep on the bed and the girls in the lobby
gave us (me and Archie) cookies. And – get this – all you have to do is call and they bring you food!
I hope that maybe next year more rescue dogues can come to the Nationals, because you will have a great time! You get to spend
the day with a lot of great looking dogues, who were all very nice, by the way, you get treated like a celebrity and they give you stuff!
Thank you to everyone for all their generosity and hard work needed to put the show together. I’m already hoping that my mom and dad

In an informal tradition started by Peter Montfoort, after the second
DDBS National show in Georgia, attendees are invited to have dinner with
the judges on Sunday night. This is a very relaxed and fun dinner, who
ever is still at the hotel on Sunday, and who ever we can round up, is
invited to join everyone for a night of fun.
Here are some shots of dinner on Sunday night with Helene and Benoit.
The Holiday Inn restaurant was technically “closed” because of short staff,
but with our persistence and our agreement to be patient, the entire hotel
staff pitched in and served us a fantastic meal. Here are some pictures of
the night. Approximately 30 people were present for dinner that evening.
