Welcome to Freshman Orientation 2009! Over the next two days, you will receive a great deal
of information that we hope will be valuable throughout your time at LSU. Make every attempt
 to go to as many sessions as possible and be open to new experiences. While you are here,
                   you will begin to make LSU your new home! Geaux Tigers!

                        Learn about all the campus services that make your tiger life easier!
                        You will leave with your group after this session. The number identifying your
                        group is printed on the ivory exam schedule that you received at Check-In.

                        At this meeting, you will meet others with similar majors and the LSU
                        Ambassador who will be assisting you during orientation This is the time to
                        ASK QUESTIONS! After this meeting, your Ambassador will escort you to
                        your first exam.

5:00 - 7:30 pm    Meeting & Dinner with Orientation Leaders
                                      Tiger Lair (LSU Student Union)/Various Locations
                      Join us for dinner in the Tiger Lair at 5 PM.
                      Then meet your Orientation Leaders at 6 PM!
                      Bring the purple bag and materials you received at Check-In. Important
                      information will be presented by your leaders to help you with scheduling.


7:30 - 8:45 pm    Getting Involved at LSU                Cotillion Ballroom, LSU Student Union
                      Come see what Campus Life can offer you! Campus Life offers opportunities
                      for Involvement, Service and Leadership! Dive into your college experience
                      through Campus Life.

                      Followed by After Hours at Blake where the fun continues until midnight!



         To ensure students safety, the doors to Blake Hall will be locked at midnight!

                       This interactive program will offer a realistic view of how the choices you
                       make during your time at LSU can determine your future and how the
                       Division of Student Life can support your development.

                       A personal finance presentation focused on the needs of college students
                       presented by Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary organization for financial
                       information professionals.

10:00 - 10:45 am   Tigers Know Wellness                                                    Cox Center
                       Learn about the different health choices you will face as a student and find
                       out about the best kept secret on campus the Student Health Center.
                       Get the scoop on the healthcare services available to you and learn how to
                       effectively access those services.
10:45 am - 1:00 pm Lunch & Meeting with Orientation Leaders                      Various Locations
                       You will get your Placement Profile from your LSU Ambassador and learn how to
                       read your placement information and how to schedule!
                       Your meal ticket is required for lunch!

                   Work with academic advisors, counselors and your LSU Ambassador to
                   complete your fall schedule of classes.
                       Student Athletes will report to the Cox Center after advising.

After Orientation Checklist
Below are things that you should complete or attend before fall classes begin.
□ Confirm your class schedule
    View your new class schedule on PAWS as soon as after your orientation session is over! You can
     also use PAWS to modify your schedule.

□ Select Additional Services
    By July 12 by 7:00 pm. Use PAWS to notify LSU if you want a parking permit, a meal plan,
     health insurance or TigerCASH.

□ Complete the Registration process
    Online fee bills will be available on July 19 via your PAWS Account. FEE BILLS WILL NOT BE
     MAILED TO YOU! You can pay by online check or credit card. Your class schedule will be
     purged if not paid by August 6, 2009!
    NOTE: You must be sure to complete registration even if your balance is $0.00!

□ Get involved at Bengal Bound from August 20 - 24, 2009
    Visit www.lsu.edu/bengalbound for details on how to be a part of LSU’s official Welcome Week.

□ Complete Mystudentbody.com
    All incoming freshmen are REQUIRED to complete this online health education program. For
     more information, visit www.lsu.edu/mystudentbody or call 225-578-5718.

□ Attend the Chancellor’s Welcome
    Scheduled for Sunday, August 23 (the night before classes begin). This is the only time your
     entire class will assemble before graduation. Don’t miss out!

Test Taking Tips

  Calculators are not allowed on the Calculus or Trigonometry exams!
  Non-graphing calculators are allowed for the Physics and Chemistry exams.
  Bring a #2 pencil and don’t be late to any exam.
  If you would like to add or drop an exam, please visit the Assistance Table at Check-In.
  If necessary, you may also visit 170 Coates Hall after 11:00 am on Day One.
  If you are unable to attempt all the exams you would like, you may take additional
  exams at no charge before September 2, 2009. Please call the Office of Assessment and
  Evaluation beginning August 2009 at 225-578-1145 to schedule an exam.
