PRLog.Org - Global Press Release Distribution PJ's Funeral Planners is on a Mission By Evans Investment Group Dated: Jul 02, 2009 PJ’s Funeral Planners has opened a new trend to the funeral trade industry, they are an at-need based funeral planning service that is not commonly known here in the US. PJ’s Funeral Planners has opened a new trend to the funeral trade industry, they are an at-need based funeral planning service that is not commonly known here in the US. In this industry you have pre-planning services that are typically done through a certified pre- planner or an insurance agent. Then you have At-Need Services where you go to the funeral home to make arrangements. Paris Evans CEO, has developed a business of At-Need Funeral Planning where they provide myriad options and services to families other than going with the first funeral home families can think of. It is a common practice for families to encounter a loss and call either the local funeral home or the well-known funeral home in the community, which is fine!!! Those funeral homes will give there GPL (General Price List), which is required by the Funeral Trade Commission. These establishments provide a listing of merchandise (which is not required) but can be purchased through that funeral home. What they don’t give families is a list of services that are not needed in order to carry out a dignified home-going service. Such as: Flower cars- (family and friends can utilize available space in attendants vehicles instead of paying the high cost of having a flower car.) Flower packages ( Families can request that donations be made to the memorial fund of the deceased which could go towards final expenses.) These are just to name a few. There are so many other things that can help cut costs that families are not aware of. Funeral homes exist to provide a service and to make a profit. That’s the purpose of every for profit business. If they told you what services to eliminate, that’s money out of their pockets. Reality is, when families have an unexpected loss, we are not focused on the funeral planning process. They are focused on their grief, their families, and how they are going to cope with this inevitable, life-changing situation. They go to the funeral home and make clouded decisions because they feel pressured to make those arrangements. They feel pressured to sign contracts, pressured to agree with the suggestions of the funeral director; and, most of all, pressured to just get the whole ordeal over with. And through this pressure 70% of the time families make regretful decisions and are not happy with the services. This is exactly what PJ’s Funeral Planners wants to eliminate. Page 1/3 PRLog.Org - Global Press Release Distribution 1.Paris, wants to remove the need for families to make arrangements, many of which are unnecessary, at the funeral home. She has found that going to families and meeting with them in the comfort of their own homes, in the presence of family and friends, in familiar surroundings provides solace during this stressful and taxing time. The traditional option is going to the funeral home where you will encounter other grieving families and various other distractions. This can be overwhelming, ineffective, and counterproductive 1.When PJ’s consultants go to meet with their families, they bring a variety of options for that family to choose from, such as caskets, flowers, urns, cemetery lots, funeral home choices and so much more. Everything that the funeral home will offer grieving families PJ’s Funeral Planners offer - at a more affordable price. In today’s economic times man families are unable to afford life insurance policies. They cannot afford to pay these exorbitant expenses out of pocket. Families are financing their homes and cars, selling possessions and heirlooms to pay for the home going service of a loved one. This exacerbates an already stressful situation. Each family’s needs differ. Some families have abundant resources and place few on the funeral service they are seeking. Other families have financial limitations, and yet others are unable to afford any of the services and arrangements. On Monday ABC news aired a story about an elderly woman who had been discovered abandoned in a funeral home. She was prepared and dressed for her home-going service, but the service never took place because the family could not pay for the services provided by that funeral director. The news reporter stated that the funeral director was holding those remains until the family could pay the balance due for the services. I am quite sure that he did not inform that family that there are state- funded programs that assist families who cannot afford to pay for funeral services. The services vary from state to state and some of the programs have limitations to the services they will provide. I have had families utilize state-funded programs and later on have a memorial service to celebrate the life of their loved one. There has to be a voice for these families; someone who can make sure that their best interests are at heart; someone who ensures that the decisions being made are to the family’s advantage, and that these families are not being taken advantage of. Ultimately, all families should receive the best available services. “PJ’s Funeral Planners” is that voice. Their goal is to meet the needs of our families. And, notice I say families and not clients, Paris states. When you are dealing with a family, you have a tendency to be more compassionate. When you deal with a client, business is business. I work with families, and I am compassionate about my work and their needs. Paris Evans is among one of the most talented people in the industry. She is dedicated to her work in helping families through what can be a very difficult time. Funeral Planning is not a commonly known business in the US, although it is something much needed. Paris, after the loss of her father, stepfather, and grandmother within weeks of each other, noticed that if families felt the overwhelming stress that she felt during this time, then there had to be a better support system. In order to relieve some of this burden, there needed to be a coordinator, someone who could be her voice, her decision maker, her personal assistant. Other than the limitations of the funeral director and family, there was no one else. This is how Paris developed PJ's Funeral Planners. Paris merges the attention to detail, care, and passion generally applied only to weddings to an equally Page 2/3 PRLog.Org - Global Press Release Distribution challenging and stressful arena. Paris and her team are able to reach out to families and be a comforting support system during this time. They work directly with the family and assist them through all home going arrangements and so much more. Paris is a graduate of Stratford Funeral Training School. She dedicates her time to her work and family. She is caring, compassionate and takes pride in her work and reputation to the community in which she works. And she looks forward to helping families for many more years to come ### About PJ's Funeral Planners, they are the most talented funeral service. They have brought a much needed service to families nationwide. The services that they are able to provide is astonishing and goes much further than just having a funeral planner, they become a confidant during what can be a very stressing time.
