The Planning Center on behalf of the City and property owners is preparing the Specific Plan for a 268 acre area known as Section 19. The Plan will designate land uses, circulation, infrastructure needs and will include design and development standards for build out of the 268 acre area northeast of the intersection of Bob Hope and Dinah Shore Drives. The consultant is preparing the EIR and work continues on the draft Specific Plan. Changes are being made to the circulation plan and Council Subcommittee meetings are ongoing, the last one occurring in February, 2009. A final Plan and EIR will be presented and adopted later in 2009. The Planning Center has prepared an initial study and a Notice of Preparation of an EIR which has been routed. The public review period is from April 13th through May 13, 2009.
