									BUYER – INDIRECT PURCHASING

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •    Develop and manage key vendor relationships to improve overall costs and
      enhance product performance.
  •    Design and implement continuous material improvement processes to maintain
      or improve material quality at lowest possible cost.
  •   Strategically reduce vendors in supply base to achieve maximum economies of
      scale.
  •   Identify and develop alternate suppliers for key components to insure
      uninterrupted material flow into all facilities.
  •   Manage supply chain and internal processes to insure world class performance.
  •   Identify, qualify and maintain superior vendor base to enhance cost-advantage
      manufacturing operations.
  •   Quickly identify and remove obstacles to success.
  •   Effectively represent the company in negotiations with vendors, achieving best
      possible solutions which satisfy vendor and business needs.
  •   Effectively motivate, guide or influence others to a successful outcome.
  •   Delegate activities effectively to enhance efficiency and results.
  •   Adapt quickly to internal and external changes.
  •   Responsibilities will include specific products/commodities.
  •   Manage corporate Master Contract files data base.
  •


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  •   . Bachelor’s degree required.
  •   Minimum five (5) years experience required.
  •   Qualified professional with management and procurement background in high
      volume, large manufacturing plant environments purchasing materials and
      services.
  •   Must have solid working knowledge of SAP.
  •   Must have demonstrated ability to organize and execute assigned projects.
  •   Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.
   •   Very strong personal communication skills – must have the ability to work well
       with all levels within the organization (accounting, sales, engineering, WNTC
       branches, WWP, Transcraft) as well as externally with suppliers.
   •   Must be a self-starter who assertively takes on challenging responsibilities and
       holds self ultimately accountable for results and performance.
   •   Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
   •   Have the ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and
       professionalism.
   •   Confidentiality and Integrity - must be able to handle sensitive information while
       maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
   •   Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, able to work
       independently.
   •   Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced
       environment.
   •   Must be able to take direction from several sources and prioritize accordingly and
       work under tight deadlines.
   •   Must have excellent attendance with the ability to work overtime as needed.
   •   Proficient in the use of MS Office programs.
   •   Proven ability to achieve consistent repeatable cost savings.
   •   Performance driven individual with outstanding planning and negotiation skills.
   •   Proficient in supply chain management.
   •   Demonstrated record of consistent performance and ability to attain financial
       goals and objectives.
