Entrepreneurship and Startup Workshop for Postgraduates
To enhance the understanding of postgraduate students of non-business studies towards the principles of entrepreneurship and the “Why” and
“How” to create a business venture, CPDC has collaborated with the Center for Entrepreneurship to organize an “Entrepreneurship and Startup
Workshop for Postgraduates” on 28 May 2010. Alumni entrepreneur will also be invited to share his experience and tips of starting up busi-
ness. Details are as follows:

Student Services Centre: Summer Opening Hours
During the term break, the opening hours of the Student Services Centre at the 1/F of Benjamin Franklin Centre has been changed to the following
since 26 April 2010:
Monday to Thursday 8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Friday 8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays Closed
The opening hours will resume normal on 6 September 2010.
Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme 2010/11
The Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme 2010/11 is now open for enrolment. Young people selected for the programme will receive training in this
summer and become Young Ambassadors for Hong Kong to promote hospitality both local and overseas.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend selection interviews to be conducted on 26 or 30 June 2010. A comprehensive training programme for
selected candidates will take place from 13 July to 17 August 2010. The training programme includes workshops, seminars, visits to Hong Kong
leading companies, as well as a “Young Service Stars” Competition. Upon satisfactory completion of the training, participants will be formally ap-
pointed as Hong Kong Young Ambassadors with the mission to promote “A Hospitable Hong Kong” in the coming academic year.

Call for Nominations of "Hong Kong Spirit Ambassador"
Hong Kong's success over the past years had much to do with our positive and can-do attitude. In face of difficulties and adverse circumstances, we
remain optimistic and persistent. Most important of all, we care about others in both good and bad times.
As members of this community, we very much hope to promote the above Hong Kong Spirit to our young generations. We call on you to actively
participate in the "Hong Kong Spirit Ambassador” Programme, which aims to commend individuals whose lives can exemplify the Hong Kong Spirit.
Through their touching stories, we hope these ambassadors will help sustain the Hong Kong Spirit and inspire others.
Chaired by Dato Seri Paduka Sir Ti-Liang Yang (楊鐵樑爵士), the Programme has formed a Judging Panel comprised of Ms. Barbara Chan (陳敏兒女士),
Chairperson of Parenting Forum; Mr. Bernard Charnwut Chan (陳智思先生), Chairperson of The Hong Kong Council of Social Services; Dr. Philemon

Six to ten ambassadors will be selected with reference to their life experiences and the attributes identified for Hong Kong Spirit. The successful
nominees will have the opportunities to share their Hong Kong Spirit stories at schools and different districts. We look forward to your active
participation no matter as a proposer or nominee, or by sharing the news with the fellow students. Nominations are invited until 18 June 2010.

Mental Health First Aid is the help given to someone developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis before appropriate profes-
sional treatment is received. Participants who complete the 12-hour MHFA course will be issued a “Mental Health First Aid Course Certificate” by
the Hong Kong Mental Health Association and acknowledged by ORYGEN Research Center of the Department of Psychiatry at University of Mel-
The Course will enable participants to:
Learn about the basic knowledge of depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance use disorder.
Anticipate the possible crises which may arise from these mental health problems and proceed with the necessary intervention.
Learn about community resources and help the person involved to seek professional treatment and make use of suitable resources.
