She was flown to the hospital. 10/1/2005 Cleaning 5.6 Gunks Rib (or Ribless) 3/3 Mike Fernandez 10/1/2005 Trad 5.6- Gunks Rhododendren 1/1 Mike Fernandez Led my first route clean with no falls toward the end of the day. This route went straight up a crack. 10/1/2005 Top Rope 5.6 Gunks Horseman 1/? Tony Canike Tony led this and then belayed Nicole and I up from the top. Tricky roof. 10/2/2005 Top Rope 5.8 Delaware Water Gap Snow White ? 1/1 Tony Canike, Mike Fernandez, The approach at the Gap is a real bitch. Trekking poles are Nicole Castonguay recommended. Wear good boots for the approach and watch out for poison ivy. 11/1/2005 Indoor Lead 5.9 Go Vertical Nicole Castonguay, Scott This was my first indoor lead. I passed the test on the first try. Sherlock 11/11/2005 Top Rope 5.6 Swedish Cabin 1/1 Tom McCabe There are four bolted routes with some chains bolted in at the top. There's a 5.6, 5.8, 5.10a, and a 5.10d. We climbed the easy two. http://rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=7298 12/27/2005 Ice TR Chiller Pillar, ADK 1/1 Scott McCracken, Ken This is a very tall slab of ice with a couple pillars. There were a couple McCracken, Karthik, Todd, main routes and possibilities for mixed climbing too. Betsy 12/27/2005 Ice TR The Playground, ADK 1/1 Scott McCracken, Ken At least 5 places to set a top rope, though the ancors at the top are not McCracken, Karthik, Mike the best. Fernandez, Tony Canike 9/4/2006 Cleaning 5.6 Gunks Moondance 2/2 Tony Canike Tony led both pitches and I followed. 9/5/2006 Cleaning 5.7 Gunks Strictly to Nowhere 1/2 Tony Canike Tony led the first pitch which was the 5.7. The beginning of the climb took a little thought, the middle was pretty straight forward, but the top was the crux. Just below the pine tree at the top of the first pitch (belay anchors there), there is about 15 feet of cruxy ceiling. The holds were there throughout the entire crux, but you just had to be patient and look for them while always making sure you had the best stance. Kick your right leg out for the last 6 feet of the crux. A great climb! Had to rap down after the first pitch due to rain. the second pitch was a 5.4. 9/15/2006 Top Rope Rumney, NH 1/1 Tom McCabe, Tom McCabe Sr, We climbed at Rumney for the day with several of Jim's friends. They Jim McCabe, several of Jim's led several sport routes and dropped TRs for everyone else. We friends climbed several routes at the Parking Lot wall, and then up at Jimmy Cliff. The approach to Jimmy cliff was longer. Climbs at each wall ranged from 5.6 to 5.10c. Climbing History 3/11/2007 Top Rope 5.6 Swedish Cabin 1/1 Tom McCabe There are four bolted routes with some chains bolted in at the top. James Kohler There's a 5.6, 5.8, 5.10a, and a 5.10d. Nicole and I then followed Tony up. 4/21/2007 Cleaning 5.6 Gunks Triple Bulges 2/2 Tony Canike, Nicole Castonguay I led the first pitch of this route which is a 5.3. The second pitch is pretty long, but it walks mostly up to the top like a ladder until it gets to a white overhang that is a bunch of fun. All the holds are there and they're big jugs. 7/21/2007 Sport Birdsboro 1/1 James Kohler We took turns leading some easy climbs at the front of the wall. 9/15/2007 Top Rope Chatfield Hollow 1/1 Tom McCabe Nice little crag near Tom's parent's beach house in Madison, CT.
