                                               BLOCK OF THE MONTH CLUBS
The Night Before Christmas
I know – we just finished Christmas – but we are quilters and we plan…..right? I must say, this Block of the Month is stunning. It is a
nine month program – starts in April with the first pick up. It can be hand appliquéd or machine appliqués – totally your choice. BUT
if you ‘like’ hand appliqué but not sure how – I highly recommend that you take Lynn’s class in March. She is one of the very best
hand appliqué people I know. It really isn’t difficult once you learn how and this quilt – really, is beautiful. Stop in the shop to see the
pattern picture and register today! There are only a couple spots left.

Trail Mix
This Block of the Month starts at the end of March and is also a nine month program and consists of 13 blocks and one very cute
little machine appliqué bear on a bicycle in the center. Limited Spaces available – so come on in and check it out.

                                                           Quilt Shop News

week) and of course NEW FABRICS and kits available!!!
 We will be getting a new member in the store – LUCEY – a beautiful new Longarm machine. Bet you can’t guess who is
extremely excited!!! She should be here in early March. My “baby” is going to a new home – her Auntie Lezlees! At least I
will be able to visit her often. New machine means faster service!
 We are still offering 25% off cross-stitch supplies (excluding floss); and 50 % off Needle Felting and Punch Needle supplies until

 New Cutting Dies have arrived for the Accuquilt Go!
 Soft Fuse seems to be a good product and quite popular- but no fear – we will still carry the Steam-a-Seam Lite II.
 I’m going to Salt Lake City to the Spring Quilt Market – will be ordering all the lines for next fall/winter/Christmas (that I
           haven’t already!!)
 Lucie Heins, the Assistant Curator/Western Canadian History from the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton is requesting
quilters complete a survey – if you would like to participate, let me know and I will forward you the survey. This is her
           request:

The Western Canadian History Programme at the Royal Alberta Museum is embarking on an Alberta Craft Research Initiative to document the material culture of craft
production, including stylistic and technical origins as well as the dissemination of production methods within the Alberta context. Quilting is a component of this
research project. The Alberta Quilt Project will look at

 heritage quilts; quilts made in Alberta or brought by immigrants to Alberta and,
 contemporary quilts made in Alberta over the last 25 years.

At this time we wish to capture the current trends in quilting. There is no doubt that there is great diversity in the types of quilts made today, from traditional to
contemporary art pieces. This is where we need your assistance. We are calling all Alberta guilds, groups and/or individuals to help us document today’s quilting
history by completing a survey questionnaire.

Again – If you wish to participate- drop me an e-mail and I will forward it to you!
