TAPL 2006 ENERGY FORUM
Are you curious about America’s future oil and gas supply? Do you want to
learn more about the challenges of world oil security? What about
conservation – how can we effectively reduce our usage? Answers to these
questions and more will be addressed at the TAPL 2006 Energy Forum by
Wayne Swearingen, President of Swearingen Petroleum Management, Inc. and
consultant to The Trust Company of Oklahoma during his presentation entitled
“Let’s Speak Simple Truths About the World’s Shortage of Oil.”
Also at the TAPL 2006 Energy Forum, Mike Bernard, Executive Manager of
Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association will present his topic “Oil – Up, Down, or
Out?” sharing a detailed discussion of oil supply vs. demand.
To educate us on the impact the international oil supply will have on our
industry, we will hear from Dobie Langenkamp, Professor of Law at The
University of Tulsa, with a presentation entitled “Predictions for
International Oil Supply”.
As we try to find solutions for American’s future energy needs, the industry has
to consider the changing role that natural gas can play. Charles Mankin,
Manager of the Oklahoma Geological Survey and Manager of Sarkeys Energy
Center at the University of Oklahoma will explore how we can diversify our
sources of supply, including diesel supply and heavy oil sources in his
presentation “The Nation’s Energy Future.”
Ken Roberts, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Syntroleum
Corporation will provide insight into their new coal to liquids technology which
is currently being done around the world. Ken’s topic is “An Emerging Industry
– Producing Ultra Clean fuels by integrating coal gasification with Fischer-
Tropsch technology.”
David Fleischaker, was appointed Secretary of Energy, State of Oklahoma by
Governor Brad Henry. He is also the President and CEO of Jolen Operating
Company. During his presentation entitled “Oklahoma Energy Update:
Opportunities and Challenges”, David will share commentary as it pertains
specifically to Oklahoma.
TAPL would like to extend a special thank you to Buddy Kleemeier, Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer for Kaiser Francis Oil Company, for
agreeing to be the moderator for this special event. Buddy’s knowledge and
expertise will make the afternoon informative and enjoyable for all!

What is the Energy The Energy Forum is a unique format for you to
hear Forum? some of our nations leading industry experts
give their views on the future of America’s energy
needs and offer insightful information for how we can
address the challenges ahead for our industry.
Who should attend? All TAPL members and industry employees
interested in discussing America’s future energy
needs. Many government and industry leaders
have been invited as special guests and will be
in attendance. Please show your support by
attending this special event.
What does it cost? If you are a TAPL member, the cost is $50. If
you are not a TAPL member the cost is $75.
Are meals provided? No, meals are not provided, but TAPL will
provide beverages and cookies during the
afternoon. TAPL will also host its monthly
social with hors d’oeuvres following the Energy
Forum on the 16th floor of the Petroleum Club.
TAPL members may attend the social at no
additional cost, simply make your reservation to
Jane. Non-TAPL members may attend the
social as our guest for an additional cost of $40
per person.
Is the Forum interactive? Each of our speakers will be making a
presentation to the group, but there will also
be ample time for question and answer from
the attendees. This is a tremendous
opportunity for you to ask questions to some of
our leading industry experts – your participation
will make this event a learning experience for
all those in attendance.
