About College Track
Founded in 1997, College Track exists to increase high school graduation, enrollment, and college graduation rates among
students from low-income communities. College Track’s goal is to close the achievement gap and create college-going
cultures for students who are under-represented in higher education. Over 95% of our students graduate from high school,

Position Summary:
The Chief of Staff will lead and manage projects that build internal organizational capacity and efficiency, strengthen staff
culture and employee growth, & support the efficiency and effectiveness of the CEO. The COS serves as the CEO’s
primary liaison with constituents, ranging from Board members, Site Directors, Strategy Team, Executive Team, families,
community partners and students and act as a thought partner and implementation specialist for executive initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Include: (approximate % of time)
I. Oversee Operational Effectiveness (20%)
     Process Management: Work with Executive Management Team, Board and Strategy Team to assess successes
        and challenges, and support organizational development and implement next steps.
     Schedule and prepare materials and agendas for the organization’s management team, board and staff meetings,
        take and distribute notes, and ensure next steps are communicated, monitored and implemented.
     Responsible for overseeing effective execution at the organizational level
II. CEO Support (40%)
       Provide critical support to the CEO:
              o Coordinate scheduling & logistical needs (including calendar, travel, and files), represent the CEO in
                  internal and external settings, & assist in organizational development
              o Prepare, execute and/or edit written and oral correspondence, presentations and/or memos to the board,
                  staff, and other entities.
       Assist CEO to prioritize weekly and keep him informed of key developments in organization's daily activities
       TBD: Other projects, initiatives or support as determined by the CEO.
III. Project Management (30%)
Effectively manage the successful execution of projects that improve College Track’s effectiveness and efficiency – working
independently and involving appropriate constituents to reach outcomes. Examples may include:
      A. Technology:
       Take a lead role to research, identify, deploy and streamline technology in order to increase productivity (i.e, time-
          consuming pain points, strengthen organizational communication)
       Work with the executive team and CT staff to research, identify and help program team prototype/pilot recent
          technologies with proven abilities to enhance student learning.
      B. Human Resources
       Work with leadership to design effective performance reviews and growth and incentive packages
       Work with COO to set up and execute on systems that support effective retention and recruitment of strong staff
      C. Partnerships and Professional Development – TBD
IV. Employee Learning and Growth (10%)
       Support the development and maintenance of a positive organizational staff culture.
       Oversee the coordination of All Staff Retreats
       Work to strengthen systems to transfer institutional memory so new employees are set up for success.

Qualifications and Qualities Required
 Minimum of two years working to improve access to a quality education for students in underresourced communities.
 Bachelors required, Masters preferred.
 Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
 Experience in effectively writing, editing, and proofing documents, presentations, and/or other written correspondence
 Highly effective project manager; An entrepreneurial, learning orientation, including the ability to be flexible, approach
   new challenges with optimism and an ability to embrace and incorporate direct feedback.
 Creative & aggressive problem-solver; strategic thinker with experience in organizing others to accomplish projects.
 Efficient and persistent, with experience managing and juggling diverse tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
 Strong team player with an ability to work with diverse constituents effectively towards a common goal
 Strong command of Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel), Google Apps, familiarity with database operations
 Detail oriented, highly organized, and strong project management skills
 Commitment to our vision with a tremendous drive and demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes
