									  “Thanksgiving ”

Prepared and Presented by
 Rev. Alfred Thiagarajan
         Welcome
1 Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost
                being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not
                              all his benefits

 Psalm 103 (King James)
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is
within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not
                              all His benefits:
  Christian terms:
    Soul winning,
    Soul harvest,
Salvation of the soul.
Matthew 10:28 (New International
Version)
28Do not be afraid of those who kill the
body but cannot kill the soul. Rather,
be afraid of the One who can destroy
both soul and body in hell.
Here the verse suggests,
Thanksgiving should be from soul.
Praising from Lips- can be real or not
It can be just emotional outburst.
It can be just physical ecstasy.
Praising from the soul cannot be a false one.
Praising of soul will be unchanging not
only in earth but also in heaven
Praising of soul need not be known
outside.
All my inmost being, praise his holy
name.
This denotes our heart or Mind
Praise from the heart is the true one.
Whole heartedly
27 “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’

But our mind is corrupt
There is no concentration.
Why?

Physique : Normal-Abnormal-Subnormal

Normal self: No one is normal.
Abnormal- Neurotic, Psychotic

Mind : Conscious – Unconscious- Subconscious
Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his
benefits.
What’s the opposite of forget?
Our memory is very short.
What is memory?

Memory is an organism's ability to store, retain,
and recall information and experiences.
Sensory memory : corresponds
approximately to the initial 200–
500 milliseconds after an item is perceived.

Short-term : memory allows recall for a
period of several seconds to a minute
without rehearsal.

Long-term : can store much larger
quantities of information for potentially
unlimited duration (sometimes a whole life
span)
God has given us countless blessings.
Write and see the blessings around you.
Things we take them for granted.
•Good air (Oxygen)
•Good water
•Shelter
•Clothing
•Food ( grains, fruits, vegetables etc)
Thanksgiving is different from Thanks saying
Saying Thanks is a form of an exchange of
appreciation between a beneficiary and
benefactor
Giving thanks is an exclusive pious attribution
of a devotee to the deity.
Thanksgiving is not once a year.
It has to be everyday.
