Ashley’s Home Furnishings
“We Love to Take Your Money”
On September 7th I ordered a nearly $1,000 children’s bedroom suite from the Ashley’s Home Furnishing Store in Santa Maria, CA. This flyer was written on November 4th – I have yet to receive my furniture or a phone call from this store explaining the situation. Here’s my story: Sept 7: Ordered the entire Cream Cottage children’s suite for a total of $850.99. We were told the product was in the warehouse, with an estimated delivery date of Sept 18. Sept 21: We haven’t heard anything from Ashley’s so we call the warehouse and check on our order. Our order is on backorder with an estimated delivery date of October 4, we received no phone call informing us of this change. Oct 8: Yet again – no furniture, no phone call. We call the Ashley’s warehouse and are given a new delivery date of Oct 18. Oct 26: I call the Ashley’s store and ask for a manager (Jose Rodriguez), he is out of the office but I leave him a voice mail which he returns on Oct 27th asking for more information. Once again, there is no phone call and no clue as to where my furniture is. Oct 29: I return Mr. Rodriquez’ call providing all of the information pertaining to our order and requesting a realistic delivery date. Nov 1: I have yet to hear from Mr. Rodriguez and leave another message with the store’s main voice mail line asking for the message to be delivered directly to him with my name, order number, and requested information. This message never received a return phone call. Nov 3: Still no message from Mr. Rodriguez I call and speak with a representative that has performed interior design work within our house. She is very understanding and promises to relay our message. This request never received a call back.
As of Nov 4th we have yet to receive our furniture, we have no idea where this furniture is located, and we have no idea when it will be delivered. I will continue to protest this store until the following conditions are met: Receipt of a legitimate delivery date – not just an estimate of 2 weeks from today from the warehouse. I have no problem with our furniture being on backorder, but someone please call me and tell me and don’t give me a ridiculous date that is pulled from a hat. BE HONEST! A credit of $100 in Ashley’s store credit to cover the delivery fee. Based on the complete disregard for customer service I feel this is a more than adequate request. Based on my current salary, the time I have taken away from work well exceeds $400.
