SUMMARY


Imperial Platinum              Corporation holds               61 unpatented claims in two
neighbouring contiguous blocks in the Puddy Lake and                                   Obonga Lake
areas.         The property           is located            approximately 175           km north of
Thunder Bay           in the        Thunder Bay            Mining District           at 49"58'N and
89"32'W (NTS 52H/13,                52H/14).


The claims cover the western extension of the alpine-type copper,
nickel        and     iron     mineralized            Puddy     Lake     serpentinite         stock.
Extensive prospect i rig and mining for chromium in the eastern part
of the stock was carried out in the                           1930's over        patented claims
presently owned              by Chromasco Limited.               The work indicated 25,000
tons     of     oro     grading           12"o    CrzOa.        Drilling,            trenching   and
geophysical surveys were undertaken during the 1960's by Commerce
NickeJ Mines Limited in                    the      area     presently        owned     by Imperial
Platinum        Corporation.                The      work indicated up to 11.6/6 nickel.
0.06/u cobalt and 7.2/0 recoverable iron from grab samples, diamond
drill core and trench samples.


Geological          mapping         and     geophysical surveys conducted by A.C.A.
Howe International Limited, delineated the northern                                    and southern
boundary of           the serpentinite               stock in        the property        area.   The
highest values obtained from 57 rock grab samples are as follows:
Pd-201ppb,           Pt-25ppb,        Au-26ppb,            Cu-359ppm,     Ni-2155ppm         and Cr-
763 2ppm.


A winter program              of     Max-Min         and     magnetometer        surveys      with a
follow-up           drilling        program         over     Puddy     Lake     is     recommended.
Further sampling              and     geochemical            analyses     should        be   done to
determine the           content of               the full     spectrum of PGE's as well as
arsenic, bismuth,             gold and chromium.


A total cost of S210.000 is recommended.

1.0    INTRODUCTION


The following report summarizes the results of field work carried
out on Imperial Platinum Corporation's Puddy Lake property during
July, August and September, 1987.


The author of the          report is        Wanda Neely,     Geologist with A.C.A.
Howe International Ltd., who conducted the mapping surveys in the
field,    on     behalf     of   Imperial        Platinum      Corporation.      The
assistance of field crew members Mark Foerster, Bob Shanks, Gavin
Rowat t, Mark Heaven. Chris Lee and Peter Peschke is acknowledged.
The geophysical       surveys were           conducted by Brian Erickson, Gerry
Lafortune and Jeff Bisson.


The history and results          of     field     work     completed   to   date was
obtained from       assessment records filed with the Ontario Ministry
of    Northern     Development        and     Mines,     Toronto.      A.C.A.   Howe
Internationa]       Ltd.     unpublished        reports and research literature
were also reviewed.
2.0      PROPERTY LOCATION, ACCESS AND TENURE


The Puddy Lake property is located approximately 175                                  km north of
Thunder Bay, Ontario and 50 km southwest of the town of Armstrong
in the Thunder Bay                 Mining district             at 49'58'N      and 89'32'W (NTS
52H/1 3 ,      52H/1-1 )    (Fig.    l ) .


Highway 527,             between Thunder Bay and Armstrong, passes within 25
km of the area.                 Access       to     the   property     is     by float-equipped
fixed wing             aircraft from              Armstrong.      In winter,       access may be
possible by snowmobile on a winter road from                                Highway 527, across
Obonga Lake             to the northwest shore of Northwest Bay.                        Travelling
west, along a winter road around Chrome Lake will lead to the east
end of Puddy Lake.


The property            consists of               two neighbouring blocks of contiguous,
unpatented claims (Fig. 2).                         Details on the claims are             listed as
foilows:

3.0   PHYSIOGRAPHY, CLIMATE AND RESOURCES


The topography of the Puddy Lake area is predominantly flat.


The climate is typical of Northern Ontario with       long winters and
short summers.    The average mean daily temperature is usually in
the range of 12-14'C with winter temperatures as low as -40'C and
summer temperatures as high as 30"C.


Numerous lakes   and ponds are found throughout the property along
with the abundant water resources of Puddy Lake       and Chrome Lake.
The property is well forested with a mixture of spruce, cedar and
jackpine, that couJd be considered a marginal timber resource.


Puddy Lake contains pickerel and   northern   pike.       The   area is
populated by partridge, moose, bear, beaver and ducks.
4.0     PREVIOUS WORK


4.1     General History

Government geological mapping of the general area was carried out
by Kustra et a],             in 1967 and Sage et al.            in 1974     for the Ontario
Department        of        Mines.        Their       work    delineated      the Puddy Lake
serpentinite stock that extends from west                          of Puddy    Lake to east
of     Chrome     Lake.           The     two     areas      were largely prospected and
developed separately.


4.2    History of the Puddy Lake Area

In 1961, G. W. and J. G. N'elson                  discovered significant           amounts of
nickel at        Puddy Lake.             In     1965, Commerce       Nickel Mines Limited
acquired a group of 55 claims                     covering the       prospect surrounding
Puddy Lake.            A     ground magnetic           survey was     carried out over 28
claims that        outlined several               highly magnetic         areas.     Seventeen
widely-spaced              diamond      drill     holes totalling 1704 m intersected
nickel-iron mineralization.                     The    longest intersection          was 116 m
averaging        G.21%        nickel.           The    shortest     intersection was 18 m
averaging Q.27% nickel.                  Drilling defined a zone measuring 4.8 km
long, 0.8 km wide and 122 m deep.                       It was estimated to contain 30
million tons           of     open      pit     material      (Northern     Miner,    15/6/67)
grading G.1%           to 0.696 nickel, approximately G.01% to Q.06% cobalt
and     7. 296   recoverable            iron     (Northern      Miner,      17/8/67).       In
addition, small amounts of platinum group metals, zinc, chromite,
gold and silver were                  identified.         No PGE    values were reported.
Grab     samples           from   a     massive       sulphide zone discovered in 1967
varied from 4.196 to 11 .6 07o nickel.


In 1968, Newmont Mining Corporation of                         Canada did      an EM survey,
trenching and              drilling of         10 holes totalling 947 m.           Results of
this work are not known.
During the period 1968 to 1971, two companies held options on the
property.   Some geophysics    and diamond drilling' were conducted,
but there is no record of      which companies they were or the
results obtained.


Sheridan Geophysics Limited optioned         the property   in 1974, but
did not file a work report.


In 1985, Platinum Exploration Canada Inc. conducted a program of
mapping, sampling and prospecting' over claims in the west Puddy
Lake area.   These claims cover Imperial Platinum Corporation
claim numbers TB1011913 to 1011919, plus claims further east.
The presence of several copper/nickel showings was confirmed.
Only one sample had an anomalous platinum value (283 ppb). This
sample had assay values for copper, nickel and palladium of 5,580
ppm,  10,160 ppm and 559 ppb respectively.        The anomaly was
reported to have very limited extent          as it   is associated with
thin sulphide veinlets.


4.3    History of the Chrome Lake Area


In 1928, chromite was first discover-ed to the east of Chrome Lake
by W.K. Reefe and R.A. Macdonald. A group of claims were staked
that were later optioned by Golden Centre Mines Inc. of New York,
New York.    Their subsidiary company,  the Consolidated Chromium
Corporation,    controlled  52   claims   covering most of the
serpentinite body.  From 1929 to 1930, the Corporation carried
out stripping,  trenching and diamond drilling (305 m). A shaft
was later sunk to a depth of 107 m with levels at 31 m and 69 m.


In 1932, Chromium Alloy Co. Ltd. acquired control of title to the
property.     Seventy tons   of ore   were shipped     to Niagara Falls,
N.Y.   for experimental purposes.     Some   ferro-chrome was   made and
was reported to be of satisfactory grade.
In 1934,  Chromium Mining and Smelting Corp., Ltd. took over the
property.  During the year, 23 holes (1524 m) were drilled in the
previous shaft area.    The results indicated 225,000 tons of ore
averaging 17/6 chromite to a depth of 91 m {Chromium Mining and
Smelting Corp.,    Ltd., Ann.   Rept. 1935). During 1936 to 1937
mining operations resumed.         The work disproved the              high tonnage-
grade     indications   from     earlier    surface      drilling (25,000 tons
grading 1256 CreOa, Canadian        Mines Handbook,           1938).     Underground
mining was discontinued in August, 1937 after approximately 8,000
tons of ore had      been raised.      Surface     and underground drilling
was     completed   before     operations    were suspended in early 1938.
The property has remained idle since 1938.


In 1974, the property was         reduced    to   11     patented        claims when
Chromium Mining      and Smelting     Corp., Ltd.        merged with two other
companies to form Chromasco Limited.                    In     1986, A.C.A. Howe
International Ltd.  was commissioned               to        write a geological
appraisal of the property.    It was recommended                       that   the PGE
potential of the property be evaluated.
5.0   PRESENT WORK


In June,     July and       August,     1987, the Puddy North and South claim
groups were gridded on              100 m     line spacing     with 25        m stations.
Geological        mapping     and     geophysical       surveys (VLF-EM and proton
magnetometer) were           conducted over          these claims      in July, August
and September,        1987.         At the end of August,       1987, an additional
twelve claims of the           Puddy        North   claim    group     were     staked by
A.C.A.     Howe     International           Ltd.    on behalf of Imperial Platinum
Corporati on.


Fifty seven grab samples              were collected        over the     property area
and   assayed       for     palladium,        platinum, gold, copper, nickel and
chromium.
6.0 GENERAL GEOLOGY AND REGIONAL STRUCTURE
(See ODM Prelim. Maps P. 416 and P. 417)

6.1     General Geology


The     Precambrian              rocks     in    the     Puddy     Lake     area    are commonly
obscurred by thick layers of glacial drift and lake deposits.


The area        is dominated              by a northeast-trending synclinal belt of
intercalated met asedi merits and metavolcanics.                            Several    layers of
metasedi men t. s have             been traced for lengths of up to 9.5 km.                   The
layers consist of conglomerate.                          quartzite, greywacke,          slate and
phyllite.        The metavolcanics are banded and consist of dunite and
rhyolite porphyry alternating with massive to schistose lavas and
intermediate           to        mafic     tuff,        agglomerate       and pillow lavas.     A
sill-l ike trachyte intrusion approximately                              18 m   wide was traced
for     5.6     km     through           the    metasediments         and metavolcanics.       An
intrusive of dioritic composition forms the core of the synclinal
belt.     It is locally serpentinized.


The most        important unit in the area is the Puddy Lake ultramafic
intrusion.           The intrusion               is a     lens-shaped stock approximately
5.6 km        long and           1.2 km wide that occupies the north limb of the
syncline.        Subsequent igneous                 activity       and     deuteric alteration
resulted in the complete serpentinization of the mass and altered
the north-bounding metasediments to paragneiss.


Granitic gneisses extend for a considerable distance north of the
motasedimentary/metavolcani c                      complex.          South of Puddy Lake, an
east-trending tongue                 of        porphyritic        (feldspar)       granite gneiss
intrudes the contact zone between serpentinite and metasediments.


6.2     Regional Structure


The     major        stuctural           feature        within the area is the northeast-
trending        belt        of     metasediments            and      metavolcanics.          Tops
determined from              grain gradations              and pillow lavas indicate that

the belt is a syncline isoclinally folded along the
Filiation of the rock units north of the diorite dip
foliation south of the diorite dips steeply north
Local variations in the trend of the rock units
faulting and the disruptive effects of the intrusive m;


Several prominent    east-trending   linears   transed
foliation at low angles due to faulting or jointing.

7.0     PROPERTY GEOLOGY (Geological Maps - back pocket)


The     Puddy     Lake     north        grid       area        is dominated by pink or grey
granitic gneiss with some granite.                             Outcrops            to     the    north of
Puddy     Lake     reflect        original          sedimentary              layering.           Sulphide
mineralization including                 pyrite,          arsenopyrite              and chalcopyrite
was observed in various locations within the gneiss.


A small     lenticular stock              of gabbro            with a         surface exposure of
approximately 800 m              by     100    m        was     found       within         the granitic
gneisses of the north-central area.                            The gabbro is dark green and
coarse-grained with feldspar stringers                            and blebs.               Disseminated
sulphide        mineralization           (predominantly                chalcopyrite) was found
throughout the stock.


Metasediments        are     the        predominant             rock        type         found    in   the
southeast grid           area.        They consist primarily of greywacke, slate
and phyllite.        Rhyolitic and porphyritic tuffs and schistose lava
are     found      intercalated           with           the    metasediments.                   Sulphide
mineralization including pyrite                         and     chalcopyrite             was     found in
both the        metavolcanics and              the metasediments.                       Granitic gneiss
was found in the northern section of these claims.                                         A northeast-
trending trachyte           dyke has           been interpreted from the geophysics
to cross-cut the metasediments through the                                  south-central part of
the grid area.


The Puddy        Lake serpentinite was mapped along the northeast shore
of Puddy Lake.           The intrusion was likely formed by the alteration
of a differentiated olivine-bearing rock.                                  The differentiation is
manifested by the presence of chrome                            bands which              occur near the
northern contact.            Textures           suggest that the original intrusion
consisted of peridotite, pyroxenite                            and dunite.               Steatitization
and bleaching are locally intense.


The     serpentinite         is        quite       variable           in     its        mineralogy     and
magnetite content.           Magnetite             occurs        as        disseminated irregular

blebs, lenses   and veinlets.   The disseminated magnetite may have
been formed during the alteration of olivine to serpentine. The
lenses   and   veinlets   result    from a mobilization of the
disseminated magnetite. Other oxides include cuprite, malachite,
hematite, erthyrite and annabergite.

8.0      ECONOMIC GEOLOGY


The Puddy Lake area has been classified as an alpine-type
(ophiolite) intrusion (Postle et al, 1986).  Podiform chromite
bodies containing low level PGE's (up to 0.9 ppm) supply about
5556 of the world's chromite demand.   They are found in many
Phanerozoic tectonic belts in either the basal dunite/pyroxenite
portion of complete ophiolite sequences or                 in ultramafic blocks
in melange where the ophiolite package                     has been broken into
slices.   Highly serpentinizecl deposits contain sulphides and
sulpharsenides such as laurite (RuS2 ),     irarsite (IrAsS) and
platarsite (PtAsS ! . In some cases,  these deposits have become
economical because weathering of protore has released chromite to
form placer deposits.


Geochemical analyses of 57           grab samples       from the   property were
completed       by    Bondar-Clegg       utilizing   Aqua Regia extraction and
Fire Assay/D.C. Plasma assay methods for palladium, platinum and
gold.   These samples were analyzed using X-Ray Fluorescence for
chromium. Twenty three of the samples were analyzed for nickel
and copper       using HCl-HNOa      (1:3) and       atomic absorption methods.
The results of the analyses can be found in Appendix II.    Lower
detection limits for palladium, platinum and gold are 2, 15 and l
ppb respectively.  Lower detection limits for nickel,  copper and
chromium are 2, l and 2 ppm respectively.


Only two        of the samples analyzed show platinum content above the
detection limit (74769-25 ppb and 74773-21 ppb).   Both of these
samples were collected from serpentinized ultramafics near Puddy
Lake .


The highest values obtained for palladium and nickel                 are 201 ppb
and      2155   ppm    (74773).      A     sample of sericite schist from the
southeast grid gave the highest gold value (75071-26 ppb). Most
of the anomalous chromium, copper and nickel values were obtained

from the   serpentinites   previously   sampled   by   Commerce Nickel
Mines Limited.


Sample   74773   underwent   a comprehensive scanning electron
microscopy   (SEM)   and   electron   dispersive  x-ray  (EDXJ
investigation.   Magnetite and    trace amounts of chalcopyrite and
chromite were detected.

9.0   GEOPHYSICS (Magnetometer and VLF-EM Maps - back pocket)


9.1   Magnetics


In general,     the results       from the     Barringer Proton Magnetometer
can be     related to    the surface        geology.    An overall low of less
than   1000    gammas          corresponds   to         the   granitic gneiss,
metasediment s   and          metavolcanics.           Higher magnetic trends
correspond to gabbro stocks (up to 4300 gammas)                  and serpentinite
{up to 5100 gammas).


Contacts     between    the     serpentinite     or     gabbro    and surrounding
gneissic   rocks   or   metavolcanics   and   metasediments                  were
interpreted from the magnetic gradients between domains.


9.2   VLF-EM


The results of the Crone Radem VLF-EM survey support the contacts
interpreted by the magnetometer survey.


A distinct north-trending feature that was not delineated by the
magnetometer survey is indicated by the VLF-EM survey. The
contacts of a trachyte dyke has              been interpreted       from the data
after Kustra et al (1967).

10.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS


The observed fringes of the serpentinite body exposed on the
shores of Puddy Lake returned only low values of palladium and
platinum.


Using an alpine-type ophiolite model, PGE's would not be expected
on the fringes.  As the bulk of the serpentinite lies under Puddy
Lake, winter geophysics and follow-up drilling are recommended.
Geochemical analyses for the full spectrum of PGE's plus gold,
chromium, arsenic and bismuth would be warranted.
