• What Would You do is my favorite professional flash game.
• http://www.unicef.org/voy/hivaidsgame/shell/index.html

• Have you ever wanted to control the future, or go back and change your mind?
In role-playing games like these you can do just that! You can take control of your life,
change the future, see how things could turn out if you make certain choices and get a
glimpse into what what you can make of your life.
• I selected this game because I liked the way it was set up and because it was easy to
    understand.

• The Haunted House
• I selected this game, because it had a great selection of trivia questions. The game wasn’t
too easy, nor was it too difficult. It was an enjoyable game. I was able to just sit, and play for
a few minutes and get away from reality. The game also provided a situation of where you
had to pick the right answer or you’d lose.
• The flash was okay, perhaps they could be a little more creative with their FLASH
    animations.

• Education
• http://www.gradebook.org/Education%20Sites.htm

• The reason I chose this topic is because I enjoy school very much. I feel that people drop
out of school often, and just let others control how they feel. I want to be able to show
people the importance of education to people, why it helps you, and how it can cause you
pain when you dont have it.

• Ed.Gov
• It has a lot of incite on the different topics of education, it helps recognize the issues that
teens face today with going to school.
• It shows different features that I can use for my game.

• The White House (Washington)
• Its showed me guidlines, reforms, and gave me a focus of what everyone looks at when they
    enforce ruls in a school.
• It can help an individual decide their desicion they would like to make.

• There were a lot of inspirational things on this website, to provide learning experiences, such
as topic to click on to read about black history month, or to learn about bullying in your
    school.
• There were different subtitles, I felt as there were many different options for many different
ways to pick for my game.

                                           Three Facts
• “74.9 million
The number of people enrolled in school throughout the country—from nursery school to
college. That amounts to more than one-fourth of the U.S. population age 3 and older.‖
• “54.6 million
The projected number of students to be enrolled in the nation’s elementary and high schools
(grades K-12) this fall. That number exceeds the 1970 total of 51.3 million, when virtually all
of these students were "baby boomers," who swelled school enrollments.‖
• “3.1 million
Projected number of high school diplomas that will be awarded this school year.‖

                                                     Action
• ―Highlight the needs facing students in your school by engaging local leaders in a discussion
about the challenges young people face and the ways these problems can be addressed.‖
• ―Do a tutoring program or start one for others, or become a tutor.‖
• ―Collect school supplies for kids in need and drop them at your local Staples store during the
summer, gather information for people who need it, and hand it of in a nonchalant way so
they can get the help they want and need.‖

                             Positive Outcomes
• More teens would stay in school, and would be influenced to more of the rights instead of
    the wrongs.
• More teens would try to be more apart of there community, and help out in anyway they
    could.
• They would take on challenges, and they would start enjoying life for what it is with the
knowledge they have with a education.

How a Game Can Represent this
                  Issue
• This game represents this issue by showing the many different choices you have. For ex. If
you chose not to get on the bus, how are you going to get to school, how are you going to
get to school, and get your education. This game is to show you, how all the wrong choices
    consequence you.

                                 Game Concept
• My game is going to be set up with 3 buildings. The first building is going to be a Highschool
dropout. The second building is going to be a Highschool degree. The third building is to be
a student going to college. After that there will be a screen where you start to make your
choices. And that’s how that game will be played out.

                                         Game Genre
• The Genre of my game would be Role –playing. It offers you the exceptional choice of being
taught the unteachable outside of school. The reason I chose this game is so that you could
maybe learn more of why you need to pick school, and the right choices. What the right
choices are, what happens when you make the wrong choices.

                                   Facts About Topic
• “In 2009, approximately 91 percent of fourth-graders in large city schools received five or
more hours of mathematics instruction per week, as compared to 85 percent nationally.‖

• ―Although Spanish is the most common native language of English Language Learner
students, it is followed successively by Vietnamese, Hmong, Cantonese and Korean.‖

• ―Only about one-third of students who enter high school obtain a diploma and complete the
necessary course work to meet college entry requirements, but the situation is worse for
minority students. Of all students in the class of 2002 who entered public high schools, only
23 percent of black students and 20 percent of Hispanic students, compared to 40 percent
of white students, left high school with the minimum set of skills and credentials needed to
meet requirements for entry to a four-year college.‖

• Education
• I have learned that there are many people who have chosen the wrong road to go down. As
for me I am very well aware of what I want to learn, and what I am looking for this school
year. This game I am hoping to teach everyone how to chose the right, and wrong, and what
it takes to do so. What happens when you make those mistakes, and what it comes of it
    when you do.

     Pre-Presentation Peer Review
• Jessica Walker: • Kimberly Kipp:
• What she did well with the project was • By me viewing your PowerPoint I
detailing. What she could improve with recognized that you did well on
the project is that she could be more
knowing exactly how you felt and
creative with the project. What I learned
about her project was that education has
making others want to feel the same
a impact on her. What they would still like way. You could probably improve on
to know about her project is what is your spelling and your grammar at
causing teens to not go to school, and times. Also you may want to make
drop out. your links smaller. I learned how
many people drop out of high school
every year. I would still like to know
how many of those drop-out cases
involve drugs. You did very well. I
                                                    liked reading it very much.

                                    Questions & Answers 
1. Will you start out as a high school dropout, advance through different levels, and then finish/win the game as
     a college graduate?
• No, at the beginning at the game you will be able to choose a character you want, and then pick which building you
would want to go through, as a highschool dropout, working for a diploma, or working for a college degree.
Depending on who you are playing the game you can refer on it as real life experiences, and thats kind of how I
wanted it to reflect. Like as for me I would pick working for a diploma, because thats what I want to do.
2. What kind of choices will the person who plays your game have to make? What kind of issues will come up
that you character will have to face?
• Uh, depending on what catagory you pick, will decided on what issues will show up. But I will tell you some for each
catagory. High school drop out: Job choice, you’d be able to pick whether or not your going to have job, and if you do
whether or not your going to get up for work, and what happens when you don’t. You live in your own house, and you
have to be responsible for you own bills, but if you can’t pay for the bills, then you get kicked out. You have to make
the right choices to move along, and if you can’t you end up on the streets, and thats how you loose the game.
3. Will the player have to think strategically to make the righ choices, or will the choice be based on common
     sense?
• Uh, sort of both, while your playing the game your going to feel like your in your shoes, so it will be hard to make
choices, so you will have to think strategically, but also use common sence.
4. What will happen right after the person playing the game makes one of those choices? Will they find out
whether it was the right or wrong choice? Will they have a score that changes?
• The things that will happen will be that they will have a life bar, kind of like the game sims ( if you have ever played)
you will have to take care of certin responsibilities, and if you don’t you bars will go down. Eventually it will give you a
warning of what you have to do, and how much time for you to make it up, if you don’t have enough time then you will
loose. With the choices, once you are asked a question or asked to do something, you are given a list of things, and
then the scenary changes, you will immediately know whether or not you make the wrong choice, when you start
loosing your bars on your health, and life meter.
