2.24.09 The first thing is people falsely assume I’m a Republican, and since they are anti-Republican (ie Democrat) they are instantly offended. But my message is basic nonpartisan political discourse that is just a little exaggerated. It’s mostly an accurate statement based on Obama’s recent speeches and decision making. So, firstly, I think people should not be offended by simple political messaging but rather should, either a. consider it and intelligently debate it, or b. simply disregard it. I think I can prove that Obama acts fundamentally like one who is reengineering his country to follow Socialist ideals. He is doing it by accident based on his blind adherence to broad, poorly understood or accounted for populist liberal concepts and economic policy….and decisions based only on short term fear, greed and political payoffs, and not the long term consequences of each. He is essentially throwing huge amounts of money at every possible social project at the expense of “the wealthy” and all other tax payers, who for decades will have to pay of trillions of dollars in bonds to the Communist Chinese government, from whom we will borrow the money; called stimulus. Ironically this is akin to Reagan’s “trickle-down economics” that the Democrats hated. Santa Claus only comes once a year Barack, and the Tooth Fairy doesn’t have that much money under the pillow. Economic development is a great idea in good times and bad as long as we defend ourselves from waste, fraud, abuse, inefficiency, bureaucracy, inequity, and the likes and instead invest ONLY in those things that have truly proven to have long term stimulating advantages to America like education, job training, competitive free market capitalism, efficiency, and technical innovation. Every economic development decision should be taken very seriously and slowly and with considerable study, deliberation and long term debate. This is especially true considering much of the trillions of committed dollars won’t actually be spent right away; so how could it have been such a rush for Obama to have appropriated it (ie possibly forced your children to work much harder for many extra years to pay it off in taxes, and weakened America overall). Clearly, rushing HUGE amounts of our hard earned tax money to bankers, auto companies, insurance companies, and mortgage defaulters will not create economic development. Quite the opposite is true since those footing the bill…taxpayers like small companies, innovators and other hard workers won’t have the incentive to work and invest….given all their money will be wasted and scammed in Washington and stolen on Wall Street for unregulated industries and pork projects just like it has been in the past, which is why we are in this predicament in the first place. The banks and auto companies will fail anyhow since they are not governed by market economics thanks to the US government. This is why Obama is a Socialist and why I should be pissed and so should you, and you should add it to your signature file. Giving away the money of the people that earned it to attempt create equality in society is Socialism and will not work anyhow, since it will just bring down the nation’s overall GDP and the quality of the corporate workforce, with its correspondingly diminished output. This attempt to socialize the economy won’t incentivize growth and will confuse potential market investment participants, leaving them on the sidelines lacking confidence. I am OK if you disagree with this but clearly you can’t be offended at one’s right at basic political discourse. In fact, Obama’s rock star status and heavy handed but misguided agenda is a main reason little debate or dissent has entered the equation, nor were there any congressional appropriations discussions or amendments possible in the bill. Hardly any of them read it, and virtually every senator and congressman passed on their responsibilities, voted on party lines, and now merely grab as much pork as possible, while lying and calling it stimulus. Don’t get me wrong, I like Obama. I think he is smart, a hard worker, a great family man, a fast learner, an amazing campaigner and speech giver, and overall nice well-intentioned guy. He is just making bad economic decisions following the chorus of his “trusted advisors”, just like George Bush rushed to war based on popular party momentum, mostly expressed as pressure from his own “trusted advisors.” Speaking of his advisors, another idiotic thing he did was attempt to hire a bunch of tax cheats and other scammers to his top cabinet positions, for one example: foolishly putting Tim Geitner in charge of Treasury (IRS and other critical financial functions). I think some real “stimulus” was actually necessary given this environment but again only a small portion of what has been appropriated, and only after intensive study and debate, a slow rollout, and NO PORK. I don’t think Obama will destroy the world but he has already set it back significantly. Now he will have to spend the rest of his administration cleaning up the many messes with which he started, and those additional ones has been creating. Then I think almost everyone on Capitol Hill should be voted out of office at the next possible opportunity. 2 cents please, and three cheers for free speech.
