What process improvements does your team recommend? As non-employees, you will often
have the BEST ideas!!

General guidelines for Written Report, PowerPoint presentation (or other software used), and Oral
Presentation.
 Introduction: Give enough background material (but not too much!) so that the
audience can understand the company.
 - Give brief history of company, keep it brief! This is ONLY to provide context.
 - Give key data about company visited, okay to use a table format, left column description, right
column information. Description Information
 - Discuss your plan/method for performing your research. # employees 200
 Question/Situation: Explain the situation of the business you are analyzing (what
needs to be resolved or solved).
 - Analyze some aspect of or a related business. Discuss a business process involved (see me for
ideas, e.g., making candy, cocktails, processing travelers through an airline terminal, checkout
procedures at a retail store, etc.)
 - Discuss existing processes. Use pictures, graphics, floor plans, etc.
 - Include pictures of teammates at the company visited.
 - Discuss why these processes require improvements
 Give your recommendation/solution (process improvements should relate to text).
 - Make recommendations for improvements. Sell your ideas and make them convincing!
 - Make a graceful conclusion. Don't end with…"Yeah, well, that's it." End on an upbeat, persuasive
tone.
 Allow time for questions and answers.
 - Although you cannot anticipate every question, try to be prepared for some questions.
 Critique at least two other presentations (see attached form).
 - On the day of each presentation, some of the rest of the calss will critique the presentations and turn it in that
day.

Watch your timing! Keep at or under the timeframe or you will be cut off. PRACTICE! PRACTICE!
Rehearsal is a MUST for an A or B grade. It shows when you don’t rehearse!

Criteria for PowerPoint Presentation (or other presentation software):
Use overhead transparencies or presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint).

Pictures are mandatory. A picture is worth a 1,000 words. Include all teammates in pictures. Take pictures of

Teammates who do not attend the Field visit will not receive credit (but they can go at another time if
absolutely necessary for partial credit)
