The Carnival Glory had the distinction of being the first cruise ship of the season in Saint John, a featured port on the ship’s four- and five-day eastern Canada cruises from New York. To mark the occasion, the ship hosted a reception for local dignitaries and VIPs during which Captain Agostino Fazio was presented with a highly detailed nautical telescope – a Saint John tradition that dates back years. Following the presentation, attendees were treated to a champagne toast while they enjoyed delicious hors d’ oeuvres prepared the Carnival Glory’s F&B team. What a great way to begin the season! CARE TEAM TRAINING Carnival’s CareTeam, which provides emotional and logistical support to our guests and crew when faced with a crisis or traumatic experience, recently added more than 40 members to this dedicated all-volunteer group of employees. Facilitated by CareTeam Manager Ray Gonzalez, the group underwent two days of training at the Miami corporate headquarters to learn more about their role in this important aspect of our operations. Executives from Disney Cruise Line team were attended to learn more about Carnival’s CareTeam operations and share best practices solutions. Additionally, pictured in the bottom-center are Barry and Fern Katz who are professional actors serving as role players to make working with guests realistic during this training. Congratulations to all and thanks for all you do, CareTeam! eSEAVIEW JUNE 8, 2011 PAGE 2 AWARD WINNNING At a ceremony at the Miami offices, Carnival was presented with its six Porthole Cruise Magazine Readers Choice Awards from Editor-in-Chief Bill Panoff. Carnival’s awards included Best Value for the Money, Best Entertainment, Best Mexican Riviera Itineraries, Best Casinos, Best Web Site, and Best Theme Cruises. Since the Porthole Cruise Readers Choice Awards were established in 1999, Carnival Cruise Lines has earned 115 individual honors – the most of any cruise line. A JOB WELL DONE COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE A special congratulations goes out to Captain Allegretti and the Three Carnival Destiny team members celebrated their entire Carnival Sensation team completing training of the Records 20-year anniversaries with a special ceremony on the ship’s Management Program in record time.
