Note: These notes are those taken and understood by someone who sometimes hears things that aren't actually said but is pretty good at taking notes. There is a great amount of
information here which can be reviewed, shared and used as needed. The personal accountings should be understood as opinions and are not substantiated by anyone at Wennsoft or WUUF.
All Sequel statements written were for reference only and ARE NOT correct (for all SQL junkies who will more than likely laugh at my renderings.
(But with all of that legal jargon said, I hope that it helps those who need. ENJOY THE LIGHT READING!!!)

Things I have learned:
              Collaborate, collaborate, collaborate! With users and with developers.
              Need to learn basic sequel query to understand data mining better and understand Sequel Reporting Services.
              Microsoft is going to roll out SRS- Sequel Reporting Services as reporting service. First sets will be available in 10.00b01
              Wennsoft is going to send out quarterly report packs for those on a support plan.
              Project Symphony- Scheduled rollout around 2011-2012. Change to look and feel of user experience. Better integration between mods so they actually talk to each other and flow seamlessly.
              Communication structure will be completely different, end user experience will not change a great deal.
              Built on .NET technology. As of now, no real plan to place in a web environment, but some things possibly could change.
              Tables will remain the same, main difference is the communication between the front end and the tables, ability to tie everything together seamlessly and easier ability to customize for individual need.
              WUUF will be able to view and input on Project Symphony to assist in the development.

Report packs to roll out quarterly. Probable rollout will be through customer portal with alerts to customers advising of information rollout.

SMS         SERVICE MANAGEMENT
10.00b01    Revenue Recognition Changes- Contract Build 10 months, revenue recognized 1st 8 months, currently you can close without recognizing all revenue. Now you must recognize all revenue that has been billed.
            At close, contracts have not been billed 100%, do you want to continue? Checkbox for ability to close if not billed 100% will still be available. Error message states you must recognize all
            revenue for this contract before continuing. You must credit difference before close OR recognize 100% before moving forward.
            Can run revenue recognition routine by customer/contract #. (This is good for instances such as above)
            WIP Reconcile Reports- Only applies to SMS GL entries
            Multiple choices.
            6 reports- Report Writer, 6 reports- Crystal
            Exception Reports to determine if records are missing from SMS or have not hit GL.
            Service Options- Run Wennsoft SQL Reporting - wizard will deploy reports to report manager. If this option chosen, will only be able to run SRS, no dex reports available. Will be changing in 10.0EX.

            Modify MC/MCC invoice to allow print of an "invoice" to demonstrate to the customer what work was done under a contract; "No charge invoices"
            Provide a method to see that there are unposted Timetrack Transactions on a Service Invoice…Like we do for SOP Committed cost.
            Separate billable and cost hour for service invoices- Customer bills in hour increments, actual hours vs billable hours but tech spends 45 minutes on job,
            can bill at 1 hour vs. 45 minutes, but report separately.
            Add ability to show/edit commission calculation/distributions and applicable salesperson(s) on the service invoice.
            Ability to have more than one open invoice for a service call (separate billing)- warranty vs. time & material- credit memo plus invoice, Can choose which invoice you want the cost to apply to.
            Last open invoice is posted, close the call auto.
            Ability to group multiple service invoices by billing customer into one invoice to send to the customer
            Ability to have multiple subcontractor amounts on a service invoice (similar to other sub cost codes)
            Ability to change division at service call level for contracts. (Good for multi-divisional contract performance)
            Add "use tax" to service invoices
            On a service invoice, enter a transaction then enter matching credit since it was a mistake. Ability to tie these transactions together and suppress printing part on an invoice.
            Possibly suppress print detail for any item in detail. Drill down into service call from SOP and reverse
            Tie together multiple service calls together using a link file. (This is not yet intended for invoicing purposes)
PR          MC "SCHED" invoice posts, credits then reinvoices as "SVC" in same period. Mark will correct in service pack.

            Contract Entitlements- Ability to set different entitlements (7x24 coverage, labor only etc); set up table for work hours covered at standard rates;
            work hours covered at overtime rates; or holiday rates.
            Create "Block Hour" contracts ex ability to set contracts to include 100 hours and bill those hours as part of the contract. If it goes over 100 hours, bill the extra hours.
            Need ability to set hours and cost amount. Also need a report to show "expiring" within 5-10%
            Add ability to suspend billing & MCC but not revenue recognition for contracts that are on HOLD
            Provide a method to mark a contract as "Evergreen" or non-expiring. Still have an anniversary date which allows you to review profitability for next term.
            Remove requirement that Master Contract start/expiration dates match all covered contracts (just make all attachments inclusive)

MOBILITY PRIORITIZATION
           Default site id in Purchase order/Inventory TX from tech handheld, transmit to host and ability to change at host level
           Time Stamp via Mobile Tec- Related to when Tech makes changes rather than when it gets back to host. Current usability
           Be careful with date entries for pocket pda's. Sometimes revert to other dates when you are not looking.
           Deployment- Mobi control by Sotti- Feature that updates clock- CM3's - Battery runs out, resets clock to June 1, 2005
           GPS Integration- GPS coordinates as a transaction back to the host. Create a GPS Transaction that includes a time to transmit the GPS location every X minutes if the old location is
           different than the current one. Investigate integration with a map program.
           Add ability to create notes,whereas now they are read only (except for the MOBILE note).
           Add equipment ID to the cost transaction entry screens for all cost types (labor, travel, expense) (Default only if 1 equipment ID is contained on all tasking for this service appointment)
           Consider ability to add attachments that are equipment attachments, not only service call attachments (i.e. O&M's, etc)
           Add ability for technician to create new sub-locations for locations (when sublocation validation is turned on in SMS)

Might be easier to create in crystal and import to SRS. Secret (thank you Dean)- Can create a dataset in Crystal, view results and run the sequel query and copy/paste into SRS.
Drill down and drill through reports, header row
In the footer section of the tables, add sum/count for subtotals.
Set parameters for launch capabilities- list of parameters, you will be prompted. Select dataset as list, reference dataset.
Security is managed through report manager. Set permissions from GP for which reports get deployed to which company. Active directory user- tie security to reports
Can write the code, or use the Query wizard.
