products. Only sole and exclusive distributor/agent can bid the tender on behalf of their principals/foreign

Tenderer should have factory trained persons from the Foreign Principal / M anufacturer for the quoted imported
products. Copy of the certificate in this regard must be submitted with the t ender.

Firms should have sound financial background to undertake the project and should have a bank solvency of minimum
one hundred lakhs or above and also have annual turn over of above seven hundred lakhs for the last financial year
ending 2006-2007. CA certificate and bankers certificate both should be submitted in this respect and failing which bid
will be straight way rejected.

Firms should submit copy of CE certificate with CE no. for the quoted products. Without CE no. products will be

TECHNIC AL S PECIFICATIONS FOR MED ICAL GAS PIPE LIN E S YS TEM

OXYGEN S UPPLY S YS TEM
Gas Manifold for Oxygen :The central oxygen manifold supply facility shall comprise of two cylinder banks
extendable type of size 6 + 6 bulk oxygen cylinders complete with copper tail pipe with bull nose fittings suitable for
cylinder valves and cylinder support system. The tail pipes shall be fitted to individual non-return valves of the
cylinder manifold for easy removal of cylinders without disturbance to system operation. M anifold should also have 12
brass non-return valves for individual oxygen cylinder. Threaded connections for each manifold block with non-return
valve shall be distantly separate for Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide so as to eliminate possibility of inadvertent
interchange. Each manifold shall be provided with a terminal header and a NPT connection for automatic gas change
over system (Automatic gas control panel).

Fully Automatic Control Panel for Oxygen : Should fully meets and complies with BS and HTM -2022, C11
standards. Should be duly CE marked with CE no. to be specified. An Automatic control panel (ACP) shall be
provided. The panel shall consist the following but not limited to the following : - Automatic manifold control panel
should provides a duty or standby gas supply from two cylinder banks with automatic changeover the manifold
indicates local status and has a remote indicator facility. Should have minimum 500 L/min output flow available.
Automatic manifold control panel should be designed to supply the M GPS with a constant pressure supply via a control
panel form two equal banks of cylinders and the changeover from the „duty‟to the „standby‟ bank of cylinders should
be automatic. Automatic changeover from the duty to the standby bank should occur at a cylinder pressure that will
ensure the maximum usage of the contents of the duty bank. If the normal operation of the changeover control depends
on an electrical supply the design should ensure that, in the event of an electrical supply failure, there should not be any
disruption to the flow of gas into the pipe line supply and on restoration of the supply, the original running bank shall
return on line. The unit should have separate pressure regulating valves for each bank of cylinders and the control
system should be designed for ease of maintenance. Cylinders can be changed, or the pressure regulating valve
removed for overhaul without loss of continuity of the gas supply.

Emergency Oxygen System : Emergency oxygen cylinder manifold should be of two cylinders emergency manifold
and at all two cylinders at on end with a high pressure high flow regulator with double gauges, two pig tail pipes and
two non return valves manifold with Top & middle frame for Oxygen to connected with the hospital pipe line system
with valve.

Oxygen Generation S ystem :M icroprocessor based Oxygen Generator plant to produce 94%+/-1% of medical grade
oxygen minimum 15 m3 continuously through single unit. Oxygen so produced should be supplied through pipeline at
4.1 bar pressure. System should be PSA based. It should be supplied with Oxygen Analyzer with minimum shelf life of
system. Compressed air system compatible for oxygen generator module and compressed air 4bar for OT and OCU
areas. Compressed air system with single air compressors of non-lubricated type along with respective accessories. It
should be skid mounted, fitted with 40 HP 3 phase TEFC 440volts electrical motor, along with desiccant heat -less type
air dryer, after cooler with moisture separator and auto drain valve. water recycling pumps (1 No.), Cooling Tower (1
No.), One No. of air receiver, and one no. of oxygen storage tank of suitable capacity fitted with valves, pressure
gauges should be supplied. Tenderer should provide training to hospital staff for a period of minimum fifteen days for
operation and maintenance of the system. The supplied air compressors should be capable enough to provide 4bar
compressed air to various areas like OT, ICU, Recovery through gas terminal points.

Nitrous Oxide S ystem : The central N2O manifold supply facility shall comprise of two cylinder banks extendable
type of size 2 + 2 bulk N2O cylinders complete with 2nos. copper tail pipe with bull nose suitable for cylinder valves
and cylinder support system. The tail pipes shall be fitted to individual non-return valves of the cylinder manifold for
easy removal of cylinders without disturbance to system operation. M anifold should also have two brass non-return
valves for individual N2O cylinder. Threaded connections for each manifold block with non-return valve shall be
distantly separate for Nitrous Oxide so as to eliminate possibility of inadvertent interchange. Each manifold shall be
provided with a terminal header and a NPT connection for automatic gas change over system (Automatic gas control
panel).

Vacuum (suction ) Supply S ystem :- Tenderer should provide two vacuum pumps, air cooled typ e, 2 Nos. base frame
mounted, air cooled type , each pump having piston displacement –60cfm (1695 LPM ), free air delivery to suction
approximately 90% of P.D., maximum working pressure 29” of Hg or 730 mm of H g, single stage, two cylinder, fitted
with M .I. channel frame complete with V-belt drive, belt guard etc. 2nos. 5HP 3phase TEFC 440volts electric motor ,
Silencers at vacuum pumps discharge end – 2 Nos. Vacuum Filter with drain valve – 2 Nos., one 2000 liters water
capacity vacuum receiver . One vacuu m pressure gauge. Two Y stanners.

Air Filtration System : One set of four – stage filter (one as working and one standby) Should be provided as
follows: The filters should be made of die cast aluminum housing with epoxy powder paint on the outside and
anodized surface treatment inside to prevent corrosion and ensure extra long life. The filters Should have maximum
contaminant removal efficiency with minimum pressure drop. Total 4 stages of filters Should be used (stage 1 & 2
Should be installed before the desiccant dryer and balance two stages after.

Copper Tube /Piping
All copper tubes should be medical grade manufactured to BS EN 13348:2001 latest standards. It should have Hard
ness to R250 half hard. It should also be certified that pipes are suitable for the particulars service and cross
connections anti-confusion tests has been carried out by the contractor. Pipe sizes should be used as per BS standards:

Fittings :Fittings shall be wrought copper, brass or bronze conforming to BS: 864 part 2 and suitable for a steam
working pressure of 17 bar and especially made for brazed socket type of connections.
Installation: M edical gas pipe shall be installed in utmost cleanliness and in a manner to prevent any mechanical &
chemical damage, exposure to excessive heat, splashing, dripping or permanent contact with oil, greases etc. and
proximity to electrical installations subject to spark etc. Only pipes, fittings and valves which have been degreased and
brought in polythene sealed bags shall be used on site. Pipe fixing brackets shall be non-ferrous or non-deteriorating
plastic suitable for the diameter of the pipe. All screws used shall be chromium plated brass. Wherever pipes run in
service ducts or voids contractor shall ensure adequate ventilation for each area and prevention of concentration or
gases in event of any leakage.
M aster Alarm Panel : Should fully meets and complies with BS and HTM -2022, C11 standards. Should be duly CE
marked with CE no. to be specified. M aster Alarm Panel (M AP) shall monitor the central gases, vacuum and
compressed air and work or indicate abnormal conditions as per specified herein. M AP shall be located in t he gas
manifold room in the basement of the APC Building. Alarm should be designed to monitor piped gas pressure (high
and low pressure on up to six services), via pressure switches, in theatres, intensive care units, recoveries, private
rooms and wards etc. It should also act as a slave to another alarm within 250 meters, using a three core screened
cable (four cores if signals are to be returned to the master unit).Local area alarms should provide indication of the
condition of gas (Normal , High or Low Pressure) at the point of use, by monitoring the internal pressure of the
pipeline. The method of monitoring should be by individual pressure switches for high pressure, low pressure, and low
vacuum and each switch should be fitted with an end of line monitoring resistance, matched to the alarm panel, to
enable the alarm panel to detect any faults on the system wiring or signal transmission. Alarm panel should have
battery back up will be provided within the system to enable the alarm panel to function normally in the event of mains
power failure. The internal battery must be used to keep alarm panels operational in the event of mains power failure.
Should be designed to monitor high and low pressure from local pressure switches.

Area Alarm Panels : Should fully meets and complies with BS and HTM -2022, C11 standards. Should be duly CE
marked with CE no. to be specified. Area alarm should be equipped with a local sensor module, which is installed
inside the box. Each sensor should be connected to a gas pipe with a gas specific DISS check unit and be clearly
marked and identified with a color-coded label for the gas specified. Area alarm should be designed to monitor piped
gas pressure (high and low pressure on up to six services), via pressure switches, in theatres, intensive care units,
recoveries, private rooms and wards etc. It should also act as a slave to another alarm within 250 meters, using a three
core screened cable (four cores if signals are to be returned to the master unit).Local ar ea alarms should provide

Bed Head Horizontal Panel : The panel should integrate the mechanical, electronic at the patient bed side with an
aim to facilitate easier access to doctors, enhance the comfort of the patient and of aesthetics of the ward. The bed head
panel (horizontal) should be made from high strength extruded aluminum profiles with powder coating with a choice of
color to suit the interior décor of the hospital. It should be custom built to house gas and electrical outlets. Bed heads
panels should be supplied with powder coating on aluminum with a choice of color to suit the interior décor of the
hospital. Each bed head panel should be 5 feet long and should have following:-
                     Provision for Two Oxygen outlets.

Terminal Units ( Gas Outlet Points )
Should fully meets and complies with BS and HTM -2022, C11 standards. It should be duly CE marked and CE no. to
be specified on it. The terminal outlet of all the services (e.g.O 2, N2O, CA 4, & Vacuum) should conform to
International Standard and the features required are : Should have Integral check valve Integral check valve – allows
removal of the housing and socket assemblies for maintenance without closing down the entire pipeline and each outlet
should be individually tested. It should be hundred metal construction. Full metal to metal seal on maintenance check
valve ensures no degradation over time. It should be of all hundred percent metal and must incorporate a sheerplance
that ensures a fail – safe condition after accidental damage or bed jacking (causing no da mage to first fix and enabling
easy replacement without isolation). Construction of the terminal unit should be of machined brass and die – cast
chrome collar with stainless steel rolling pins. Each of the gas specific components must have the gas service engraved
onto it, to ensure safety and compliance with standard. Each wall mounted outlet point must be enclosed in a white
ABS decorative mounting box with an ABS fascia and both the mounting box and the fascia shall have rounded corners
to avoid the possibility of injury. The box should be supplied with a flush mounting bezel as a plaster finish. Should
have safety features like p ositive action of rolling pin latch mechanism which hold the probe securely, anti rotational
locking bar and the gas indexing pin are cast into the socket assembly and cannot come loose or be removed and gas
specific indexed – eliminates the risk of connecting a socket assembly of one gas to the terminal block of another,
either during installation or maintenance.
Oxygen Flow Meter with Humidifier Bottle
It should be CE marked and CE no. to be specified . Fully quality assurance medical devices. It should be pressure
compensated prevents back pressure build up on flow indicator, durable polycarbonate flow tube with cover. It s hould
be made up of anodized aluminum body and control knob. Flow meter should have twin graduated scale which must
provides precision control permanent scale graduations. Flow meter should be placed in the vertical position. To use
it, gradually turn on the knob and adjust the position on the ball in accordance with the desired flow rate. The flow
meters should be of 1-15 LPM range for oxygen and with inlet pressure 50-60psi. Humidifier bottle should be
unbreakable, reusable to disinfectants and complements. It should be autoclavable at 121degree centigrade and made of
polycarbonate material, 250 cc capacity.

Theatre Vacuum Unit
It should be CE marked and CE no. to be specified. Fully quality assurance medical devices. It should be mounted on a
trolley . It must consists of the following :-1no. Suction Regulator and 2nos. 4000ml polysulphone collection jar and
both to be mounted on a trolley. Suction Regulator : The unit should include one suction regulator. Suction regulator

Electrical Control Panel inside Plant Room : Common electrical control panel for Air-Compressors and Vacuum
Pumps will be cubicle type, complete with M ain Incomer, Bus Bar arrangement, Voltmeter with VSS, phase indicating
lights, phase loss/phase Reversal indicating light, individual M CB for all starters, individual Ammeters for all motors,
Single Phasing preventer, Contactors, overload relays, control Circuit M CB, Start / Stop push buttons, Auto/M anual
switches, Pump “ON” and pump “TRIP” indicating lights, Sequencing Relays (Separate for Air compressor and
vacuum pumps) with overriding features. The panel should be cubicle type with side cubicles for bus bars for separate
sub-circuit to load breaking isolating switch. There should be individual compartment which should contain the
control circuit of each compressor separately with associated equipment for that particular compressor or vacuum
pumps. Steel bulk heads should be provided to minimize the risk of the spread of fire from one compartment to the next
. Warning notices indicating the presence of medium voltage should be attached to each compartment as necessary to
conform with IEE regulations. The load breaking isolating switch preferably to be incorporated in the control assembly
and interlocked with its cover. Auxiliary apparatus and associates circuits should be protected by M CCB mounted
within the enclosure. Each motor should have its own STARTER which should be rated for frequent duty in
accordance with BS:587 and fitted with thermal overload protection. The starter should be of automatic type so that
once switched on, the motor will automatically restart after an interruption of the supply. All 3 phase motors should
have single phasing preventors. Each star / delta should be mechanically and electrically interlocked to prevent
simultaneous star and delta connections. An industrial grade ammeter to BS:89 should be connected to the yellow
phase connection to each main motor. A manual / auto switch should be provided for each compressor assembly so
that each set may be run continuously manually.

ELECTRICAL WORK inside Plant Room : ospital will supply 3phase cable with distribution board and at one point
inside the plant room. Electric able with fixtures an fittings for manifold room will be done by the hospital. All switch-
gear and motor control centre e.g. switches statement etc. volt and ampere meters. Contactors shall be of reputed make
e.g. L&T, Siemens, GEC or English Electric. All switch gear motor etc. shall be of the same make for
interchangeability. All electrical equipment shall be earthed in an approved manner as per I.E.E. rules and acceptable
to the local authority. Earthing station shall be provided by the contractor. No medical gases pipe shall be used for
electrical earthing. Entire installation shall be done taking care to follow all safety regulations for electrical installation
of piped medical gases system. Two main supply of the required KW shall be provided up to the electrical control
panel. The wiring after the control panel has to be provided by the supplier as per IEE regulations. Following material

decontamination at 121º C . Incubator should have infrared sensor with fully

3. Centrifuge (Temperature Regulated)

9. DEEP FREEZER (Embryo Freezer)

The Embryo Freezer should meet the requirements of Human Embryo Transfer.
It should be a portable freezer with its own internal battery with a thorough put of
up to 100 Straws per cycle. It should be "Solid State" design without moving
components. There should be no solenoid Valves, pumps or motor to freeze.
The straw plate should be precisely controlled and the temp. should be balanced
against the cold liquid nitrogen chamber.

elliptical and round 1.1/2” pipe ERW CRC tube of 14 to 16 SWG 3” high density foam
apostered with letherite The frame of chair is copper plaited and then chromium plated of
10 micron (minimum) high density foam and cushioned seat of 42 density apostered with
fabric and letherite of Rs. 350/M dimensions approx all over height 35” ground seat
height 17.5” seat to back height21.5” depth of seat 19.2” width of seat 21” over all width
26” over all depth 31” .
