The packaging industry in this report covers the following broad industry categories:
Paper and board packaging includes kraft paper, sulfite paper, glassine paper, grease proof
paper and oil-resistant and waxed paper and corrugated boxes. Paperboard packaging contains
laminated paperboard packs and corrugated boards, also called cartons.
Flexible plastic packaging consists of multi-layered laminated sheets of plastic such as PVC,
LDPE (low density polyethylene), HDPE, BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) and BOPET
(biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate).
Rigid plastic packaging includes jars and containers made from single or co-extruded polymers.
Materials used for rigid plastic packaging include PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PS (polystyrene), PP
(polypropylene), HDPE (high density polyethylene) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate).
Metal packaging constitutes metal cans made of steel, tin and aluminum, aerosol cans, battery
