   Membership and Community
A discussion took place as to whether we should donate to the LCIF Haiti fund. Norman is of the
opinion that part of our dues goes towards disaster funds and Mike is to check. Les felt that many
countries will give aid and perhaps that we should not donate at this time. It was agreed that the
matter would be held over to the next meeting.
Joe R proposed that we should make the following donations:
   Headway £150
   Age Concern £200
   Action for Homeless £200

The meeting agreed unanimously. The next donations will be presented at the Blaby Gala. If anyone
has a favourite charity and to whom we might give a donation please let Mike know
Norman said that occasionally we hold Diabetic Awareness Days (The last one was in June 2008),
and also we had held a Prostate Awareness Day a few years ago. (It was in 2006). Joe H added that
Blood Pressure checks are a good form of prevention. It was suggested that a possible venue would
be upstairs in the Food Court at Fosse Shopping Park. Mike is to talk to Kathy Murdoch about the
possibility of holding a session there with the possibility of dealing with all three situations or just
   diabetic awareness.
