Brittany Knight Brittany initially started her dance career here at Milford Dance Academy. She began tap dance at the age of eight and from there on fell in love with the art of dance. At the age on nine she continued her dance training in all subjects and forms of dance. Brittany then launched into being a StarLine Dance Company member, enjoying being a competitive dancer. Brittany competed in all subjects of dance for ten years. She has received numerous awards from scholarships to special achievements from local and national competitions. Not only training with Milford Dance Academy, she has also had the opportunity to study in Los Angeles, California for two weeks on a Dance Scholarship. Other awards include being invited to back up dance for an up and coming singer from Disney as well as being asked to dance on cruise ships. Brittany has also performed in the Nutcracker with the Cincinnati Ballet, and in a Las Vegas Showcase with Milford Dance Academy that was televised. Upon graduation from Milford High School she auditioned and was later accepted into Columbia College Chicago for dance. She is now on her third year of schooling and will be finishing up her final year of College a year early. Brittany will be graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a double concentration in dance, two Bachelor Degrees, with a focus in Performance and Teaching. During her learning experience at school Brittany has performed, taught dance to others and choreographed for her school. She is a dedicated dancer with ambitions to be the best she can be. In January 2011, Brittany was invited to be one of fourteen dancers by her school to study in New York City for on week intensive. She studied and trained with Modern dancers, artists and choreographers that are based out of New York. She gained valuable insight and a trilling experience. Brittany has an unbelievable passion for dance that she thoroughly enjoys sharing with others through her teaching. Brittany originally started being an assistant teacher at Milford Dance Academy when she was younger and is now a part time teacher. She has been teaching dance for the last five years and continues to expand her knowledge with school, conventions and testing. Brittany wants to convey to others that dance is not just movement but it is a form of individual expression.
