									     Historic Bike Run Sunday 29th May 2011 Fort William

                              Important Notes

                                 Please Read

The Route :
The event will comprise of approximately 100 miles, made up of public roads,
unmetaled forest tracks, and private estates tracks. The going will on the
whole easy but there may be some sections of stony tracks or steep gradients.
There will be nothing that cannot be ridden safely by a vintage bike.
All riders must follow indicated route. Start & Finish area will be the Rural
Complex. There will be a stop for refreshments along the route. All riders
must sign off.

Entry :
Entry will be limited to 100 and if we receive more, priority will be given to the
older bikes. Riders will be set off 2 per minute, first rider leaving at 9.30

Bike History :
If there is a ‘history’ attached to your bike, please give us details (on back of
entry form) and any photographs, as we are intending to make up a souvenir
booklet, for all.

Parking :
Car and camper van parking will be free at The Lochaber Rural Complex, on
hard standing. There will be limited space for camping, on small field. The
complex has toilets. We would ask for a donation to cover the cleaning costs.
A donation box will be in the bar of the Complex.

Social :
On the Saturday evening there will be a pre event social, in the Rural Complex
which will include a buffet, with live Scottish Music, and a licence bar, time
8.00 Buffet tickets are priced £6.00 and require to be booked in advance to
provide catering numbers. Please indicate on entry form number of tickets you
require, and include this with your entry fee.
Registration :
Lochaber Rural Complex, Torlunday, Fort William PH33 6SQ
( 3 miles north of Fort William on the Anoch Mhor Ski Road)
Signing on will be on either on Saturday at the Complex, or Sunday morning
for those arriving on Sunday.
Bacon rolls and tea will be available on Sunday at the start, free to

Riding Nos.
A front number plate will be provided, to be displayed on your bike.

Break Down :
There will be a break-down recovery service following the event.

Riders Briefing :
Saturday evening, at Rural Complex , time TBA briefing for those arriving
Sunday morning, will be arranged when signing on.

Conformation :
Acceptance of entry and any final instructions, will be posted to all successful

This event is only possible with the goodwill of landowners. Only competitors
and officials will be allowed access to the off-road tracks. No unofficial bikes
will be permitted to follow the route over non-public tracks.
Officials will be posted at access points along the route to ensure this.

We would appreciate your help with this.

If you want a pre event run on Saturday a number of interesting road runs can
be suggested, these will simply be suggested routes and left up to individuals
to ride in their own time.
