There are registration fees for the Conference at the Eilat Campus (Eilat) venue only.
The payment must follow the registration form. Remittances should be free of bank
charges to the receiver, and should be paid by the participant. The registration form

marked with the delegate’s name and “3-FIBBN”

Key dates to remember
The Symposium will be held on 30 November-4 December 2003
Abstracts are due by 3 November 2003

*late registration (after November 3, 2003) will incur an extra $50.00
Target audience
The workshop should prove useful for all researchers working at related areas in the
Academia as well as Industry, at levels ranging from beginners (advanced Ph.D.
students or equivalent) to senior researchers. The round table at the closing of the
conference should be of particular interest also to policy makers and management at
both communities.
Scientific Program
The scientific program includes invited presentations, a round table discussion panel
and a poster session open to all who register. The submission of topics is open to all
working in the aforementioned fields.
Language
The official language of the Workshop will be English.
Poster Session
A contributed poster session open for all on biosensors, biochips and nano-
biotechnology projects, is being organized in order to enable interaction between the
scientists. The organizing committee wishes to urge researchers from these fields to
submit their work to this session.
Abstracts Deadline: 3 November 2003
The abstracts booklet will be distributed to the symposium participants and to the
public and be posted on the website of the Institute for Applied Bio-Sciences.

Conference Proceedings and publications:
Abstract submission:
The Scientific Committee invites you to submit abstracts of papers to be considered
for oral and poster presentations. The submission deadline is November 3, 2003. The
committee requests that you follow the following simple procedures. Please send the
abstracts in MS word format (.doc) as an attachment, to either Serge Cosnier
serge.cosnier@ujf-grenoble.fr or Robert S. Marks rsmarks@bgumail.bgu.ac.il and
indicate if you prefer an oral communication or a poster presentation. You may also
send it by fax to 972-8-6472857 to ensure accurate reproduction of your text. Authors
will be notified on the Scientific Committee’s decisions on the acceptance of their
abstract (s) and on the form of presentation within two weeks of receipt of the
abstract. Authors will be informed about the schedule of their contributions in due
time.
Abstracts must be sent in electronic form, single-spaced, according to the following
instructions:
Keep abstract in a single A4 page and use 3cm for all margins
Use Arial font size 10 along the text with a 1.5 spacing
Type the title in CAPITAL BOLD letters and center it
Leave one line between the authors (also centered) and the title
Underline the name of the presenting author
Type the institutional addresses of all authors immediately below the names
with a two-line spacing
Add the email of the speaker and if applicable the home page URL of the
principle author
Leave two lines between the address and the text
Leave one line between the text and any references
Guideline for poster
Maximum poster size is 1 meter wide by 1.2 meters long.
Student poster award
Conditions of entry are that the student applicant appears as first author on the poster.
Your registration form must clearly demonstrate that you are a student with the
supervisor’s name. Applicants are required to be enrolled as a student in a BSc, MSc
or PhD program.
Proceedings submission:
The official proceedings journal is Talanta and January is the deadline for an
electronic submission.
Hotel:
A great price was negotiated for this conference at the Prima Carlton Hotel, Eilat.
1. 170 NIS per night per single room on a bed and breakfast basis
2. 200 NIS per night per double room on a bed and breakfast basis
3. Extra nights for the week-end will incur an extra 50 NIS per night (for a
