                               Character Club
The Family Resource Center will support the Character Education Program
by awarding a prize at the end of the month to a student in each classroom
that has best demonstrated the characteristic of the month. Our SCORE
policy words are used along with other great character words. I encourage
everyone to talk about these words at home and praise your child when
demonstrating a character trait. The words of the month are:

      August: Self-Control January: Excel
      September: Courteous February: Respect
      October: Obedience March: Honesty
      November: Responsible April: Fairness
      December: Compassion

                                 Box Tops
The FRC is in charge of our fund-raising program, General Mills Box
Tops for Education. To help raise money for the school, send in box tops
from participating General Mill’s cereals and snacks, Yoplait Yogurt multi-
packs, Kleenex tissues, and Betty Crocker products. Simply clip the box top
logos and send them to school with your children. That’s all there is to it!
The more we collect, the more we earn. The school gets ten cents for each
box top collected.

                             Lending Library
The Center has a Lending Library available to all parents, faculty, and
staff. There are many parenting resources available on subjects ranging
from helping with homework to ADHD to sibling rivalry. There are also
motivational tapes on hand as well. Stop by anytime to check out what is

                                 Coke Tabs
The FRC collects coke tabs for the Barren County Drug Court. The Drug
Court donates the tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. At the end of the
year, the classroom donating the most tabs (by weight) will receive a prize
from the BC Drug Court.
