					                                 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) - Accounting Major
                                    (General Education Core Curriculum – Effective Fall 2008)

                                GENERAL EDUCATION CORE CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS

   I - Foundation Courses (9 hours)
      ENGL 1101 English Composition I (Grade of C or better is required)
      ENGL 1102 English Composition II (Average of 2.0 or better is required for both courses)
      MATH 1101 or MATH 1113 or MATH 2200 or MATH 2250
   Note: BBA degree requirement course MATH 1113 is preferred in Gen Ed Core I; Take as an A&S Elective or excess credit, if not part of Gen Ed Core I.

   II - Sciences (7-8 hours)
      Physical Sciences (3-4 hours)
      Life Sciences (3-4 hours)

   III - Quantitative Reasoning (3-4 hours)
   Note: BBA degree requirement course MATH 2200 (Analytic Geometry and Calculus) or MATH 2250 (Calculus I for Science and Engineering) is
   preferred in Gen Ed Core III. If not satisfied as part of Gen Ed Core III, then it must be taken as an Arts and Sciences Elective or excess credit.

   IV - World Languages and Culture, Humanities and the Arts (12 hours)
     World Languages and Culture (9 hours)
     Humanities and the Arts (3 hours)
   Note: BBA degree requirement course SPCM 1100 (Public Speaking) or SPCM 1500 (Interpersonal Communication) is preferred in Gen Ed
   Core IV. If not satisfied as part of Gen Ed Core IV, then it must be taken as an Arts and Sciences Elective or excess credit

   V - Social Sciences (9 hours)
     Social Science Elective (ECON 2100 or 2200)
     Social Science Elective
     Social Science Elective
  Note: BBA degree requirement course ECON 2200 (Economic Development of the United States) or ECON 2100 (Economics of Environmental
  Quality) is preferred in Gen Ed Core V. If not satisfied as part of Gen Ed Core V, it must be taken as an A&S Elective or excess credit. ECON 2105 and 2106
  are prerequisites to ECON 2200 and ECON 2100. See UGA Graduation requirements regarding American & Georgia History and US & Georgia Constitution.

   VI - Related to the Major (18 hours)
      ACCT 2101 Principles of Accounting I
      ACCT 2102 Principles of Accounting II (prerequisite: ACCT 2101)
      ECON 2105 Principles of Macroeconomics
      ECON 2106 Principles of Microeconomics
      LEGL 2700 Legal and Regulatory Environment of Business
      MIST 2090 Introduction to Information Systems in Business

   Arts and Sciences Electives (12 hours) - Four courses in Arts and Sciences Electives
   1000-level or above courses taught through the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences: AFAM, AFST, ANTH, ARAB, ARED,
   ARGD, ARHI, ARID, ARST, ARTI, ARTS, ASTR, BCMB, BIOL, CBIO, CHEM, CHNS, CLAS, CMLT, CSCI (except CSCI 1100-
   1100L), DANC, DRAM, ECON, EETH, ENGL, FREN, FRES, GENE, GEOG, GEOL, GREK, GRMN, HEBR, HIST, HNDI, HONS,
   ITAL, INTL, INTS, JPNS, KREN, LATN, LING, MARS, MATH, MDVL, MIBO, MUSI, PADP, PBIO, PHIL, PHYS, POLS, PORT,
   PSYC, RELI, ROML, RUSS, SEMI, SLAV, SOCI, SPAN, SPCM, STAT, SWAH, VIET, WMST, YORB, & ZULU; Also: AIRS -

   Basic Physical Education (1 hour minimum) – Select one course from PEDB
   Note: No more than 1 hour of PEDB courses may be used to satisfy degree requirements.



                                        TERRY COLLEGE UPPER DIVISION REQUIREMENTS

    Upper Division Business Core (15 hours)                (Prerequisites: ACCT 2101 and MIST 2090)
      FINA 3000 Financial Management
      MARK 3000 Principles of Marketing
      MGMT 3000 Management of Organizations and Individuals
      MSIT 3000 Statistical Analysis for Business I or STAT 3000 Elementary Statistics
      MGMT 3010 Foundations for Business Leadership I
      MGMT 4010 Foundations for Business Leadership II

   General Electives (9 hours) – Must be three 3-hour courses: Choose 4000-level or above business courses outside major and/or 3000-
   level or above courses outside Terry. See UGA Undergraduate Bulletin for prerequisites. Acct 5800, Acct Internship, may be used for 3 hrs General Elect.

   * Completion of courses under 1st and 2nd semester required to be eligible to apply to the Five-Year Program in accounting
   The Five-Year program allows outstanding accounting students to apply and enroll in Graduate School while completing their BBA
   requirements. The graduate accounting program requires an additional 30 semester hours to receive the Master of Accountancy
