Visit Carbon Forestry 2011 says FRA

Forestry Research Associates (FRA) is urging those interested in the
carbon forestry market and forestry investment in general to attend this
year’s Carbon Forestry 2011 event in Auckland, New Zealand.

Seattle, WA, July 08, 2011 -- Forestry Research Associates (FRA) is
urging those interested in the carbon forestry market and forestry
investment in general to attend this year’s Carbon Forestry 2011 event in
Auckland, New Zealand.

“This event is an essential for land owners, investment advisers, carbon
credit purchasers and others from New Zealand who have an interest in
carbon forestry,” stated Peter Collins, an analysis partner at FRA – an
advisory and research consultancy.

New Zealand’s Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) is something that should be
supported, claimed FRA. The event organizers stated: “New Zealand’s
Emissions Trading Scheme is an important market mechanism in providing
real incentives for businesses to reduce their carbon emissions and
create a better future.” The event intends to provide an opportunity for
interested parties to find out more about the ETS and how it will impact
them. The occasion will also help to convey why forestry is such an
“important part of the scheme.”

FRA explains that carbon forestry is a concept that is intended to
encourage countries to look after their forested land and to embark on
more managed and sustainable forestry projects to reduce the increase in
CO2 released as a result of deforestation. As countries increase their
amount of forested land, they can obtain carbon credit that allow them
increase industrial activity, for example.

The ETS in New Zealand gives forestry managers and investors a unique
opportunity to make moves into the potentially lucrative carbon trading
market, while helping to safeguard the future of the nation’s forests.
The event’s mission statement reads that the forestry industry is: “Now
in a unique position to lead the country in building a successful and
innovative carbon trading market.”

The event will take place at the Crown Plaza from July 13 and will
incorporate sessions on a huge range of topics relating to carbon
forestry, including sessions on the country’s economic outlook, where
carbon trading fits into climate change targets and a variety of case
studies to help delegates form a better idea of how the market works.
