 OBIS-SEAMAP will enhance
  the understanding of the
  ecology of marine mammals,
  birds and turtles by:
(1) facilitating study of impacts
    on threatened species;
(2) enhancing ability to test
    hypotheses about biodiversity
    and biogeography
(3) supporting efforts to predict
