Common Mistakes Made by MLM Distributors
After many years of observing the MLM Marketplace, I have noticed that there are many mistakes that MLM distributors make. These mistakes are not because the Mlm'er is stupid.......it is simply because in most cases they only follow what their upline or MLM Company tell them to do. They are only following the directions of those above them.
Most MLM companies instruct their distributors to approach their family and friends which is referred to as their 'warm' market. This is probably the main reason why so many Network Marketing Businesses end up failing, because most of the people you know are not looking to start a business of their own. Therefore, it makes logical sense to only approach people who do want to start a business. It is much more prudent to inquire about Lead companies when you are in contact with your Upline, and make sure that when you are busy promoting your MLM that you make use of a funded proposal, because in this way you will be able to make money upfront.
There is a lot of hype in the MLM industry. People hear that they will enjoy so much success that they will even be able to retire after only six months of operation. They will be told that they can even use their Upline's excess contacts. But this is not true. Success will not be instantaneous at all. It will take at least two years for you to build a list of contacts, or to transfer an already pre-built downline from another company. You will need to be prepared to devote the time and effort to building a good base of core distributors in order for you to enjoy any kind of success. Patience is key and a you should have a plan that you can follow while you are growing your business. Once you have the plan in place it is imperative that you not jump from one company to another one, as even someone with plenty of experience with MLM would find that to be rather difficult.
When choosing the company and the products you need to exercise care because both can make or break your MLM business. Very often it is a poor choice in company or products that causes a distributor's business to fail. Remember that the market has changed considerably over the last few years. Back in 1990 there were maybe a thousand or so distributors but this is no longer the case. Now there are over fifteen million of them in the United States alone and that figure is expected to rise by another five million by 2014.
As a result of the growth in the MLM business distributors are now competing against each other for ever smaller shares in the distributor base. Say, for example, that you are marketing the very latest secret from the remotest mountains in China. You can be sure that there are at least one hundred, if not more, distributors out there also marketing the exact same product as you. For many of them it is their flagship product
You would be far better off if you chose a MLM company that offers tools that the actual industry itself needs, such as Leads. This would then mean that those fifteen million people mentioned above would be your market instead of only a portion.
Making a success of your MLM business is possible provided that you do your best to avoid making any of the mistakes that we have looked at. If you take care not to you will get the chance to enjoy success.
