Our client is a renowned international firm with a top-rated regional litigation practice entering around its Tokyo and Hong Kong offices. The firm is reaching out in earnest for a senior associate to be based Hong Kong: somebody with the experience and skills to help provide leadership to a currently very busy group of mid-level and junior associate, and to complement the practice and style of a seasoned group of litigation partners. The ideal candidate will have common law qualifications, superior academics and an excellent track record in the regulatory / financial services arm of a litigation practice of a renowned firm. A financial services background is required: the opportunity at our client is the chance to work on complex, internationally profiled cases. Please note that a specialisation - or something approaching a specialisation - in regulatory investigations and proceedings (eg ICAC, insider trading) will stand out brightly in the CVs we receive in application for this position. Other desired attributes are: knowledge of investment funds and stock market instruments, experience before tribunals and arbitration commissions, advisory (including noncontentious) work on behalf of investment banks and other institutions. Previous experience in Asia, Cantonese and/or Mandarin proficiency are advantageous attributes.
